Best sole meunière I’ve tasted; lovely, buttery, they even prepared it by removing the bones. Lovely charcoal flavour on the entrecôte, cooked perfectly and a side of bone marrow, which was fantastically rich on a slice of delectable bread. Excellent crème brûlée. All of the deserts I saw going out were very generous and looked awesome.

They’re also lovely accommodating people, even patient with harried late tourists like myself.

I’m so glad we came to this restaurant as the last dinner meal before we leave Paris – this marked the perfect end to our trip given the exceptional food and service there. Taste was truly divine and everything goes so well together. Polite and efficient service, nice atmosphere, and the most important – authentic French dishes just outstanding and beyond. Such a gem and I would definitely come back to visit. They don’t take reservations online but did it an old school way – they take reservations by hand, call ahead or just come in to ask. They will try their best to give you a table.

Terrific place slickly run by people who love what they do and do it superbly. Tables are so close together they’re practically communal. (Don’t worry, your table will be pulled out for you when you’re ready to leave.) Food is classic French executed with aplomb. You’ll be asked how you want your steak – this is just a formality; just accept you’re getting it rare, regardless of your wishes (or order something else.) Fries are perfect. Dessert menu demands you leave the necessary space in your stomach – the Napoleon in particular was outstanding. Service was warm, friendly and efficient. You’ll leave the restaurant utterly contented and wondering how soon you can come back

Charming, old school bistrot serving classic dishes. Chez Georges doesn’t take online reservations, so popped by in person and luckily got a spot for lunch the next day. Very good food (if a bit on the expensive side) with friendly staff who take pride in the food. Go after 1 pm for lunch if you want a buzzy atmosphere or earlier if you want a bit of room on either sides (as others have noted, tables are very close together – might as well be communal tables). I personally really enjoyed my lunch here and would come back to enjoy a classic bistrot meal anytime.

They were gracious enough to sit us at the last minute without a reservation. We sat outside on the square, which was a wonderful setting. Most of the French classics were delightful – maybe the best steak frites I’ve ever had, the sole was perfection, escargot amongst the best I’ve ever had. The mixed salad was just fine. If you go, and I’d recommend you do – expect to spend 2-2.5 hours at the table. This is also entirely not their fault / entirely on us, but it also helps to speak a tiny bit of French if you dine here (which we did not – and I think we were ignored a little bit as a result).

Amazing amazing food, vibe and ambience. Highly recommend visiting if in Paris. We got reservation by phoning a couple of weeks in advance for a Friday evening. Turbot and the beef entrecôte were HUGE, eggs mayonnaise delicious and profiteroles you cannot miss. Loved the meal and the service was very friendly.

We couldn’t have asked for a better start of our long weekend trip than with lunch at Chez Georges. The food is deliciously not fussy, but superbly prepared classics. The service is just amazing. Staff that lets you try your best French (which I always try out of respect, but isn’t good by any means) and elegantly helps with a few words of English at the right moment. The room is luckily still mostly filled with locals. Beautiful family gatherings, old friends sharing a meal, ugly men with beautiful women, and yes, there is always the bright-pink-sweatered American. It doesn’t get more real then this. I would gladly eat here again, and again. Heck, I would live here if I could.
Until the next time!

Unfortunately, this was a disappointment for me – maybe my expectations were too high. The food is top and tastes great, but is lovelessly presented, and the service is mostly silent and cold.
If I pay 29 € for a “Foie Gras”, I expect more than a slice on an otherwise empty plate, with nothing with it – maybe a spoonful of confit or a toast or some green?
The seating is incredible tight, all tables for two touch each other in a long row, and if you breathe in, you already push the table.

Really, really good. Old school. Best to get reservations in person or way in advance via email. The service and food are fantastic. The escargot were large and tasty. The pickled beef cheeks were new to me and enough for 4 people. The lamb chops were the best I’ve had. My wife’s scallops were excellent. A little more expensive than some of the other similar French restaurants in the area, but the food and service were more refined.

Based on a friend’s recommendation I reserved a table and had a nice, relaxing evening in mind.
However, the seating was so tight that you had to remove the table first before you could take a seat on the bench. The setting was nice with white tablecloth etc. but the service was rushed and I felt like they push us through the dinner. The food quality was excellent but I wished there were more vegetables on my Chicken Supreme dish. I also missed the garnish and some additional details on the plate in a restaurant of this class. We skipped dessert because we didn’t enjoy being there. I know it’s difficult to manage the high demand but maybe it would be better to seat a few less people and provide more atmosphere.
