this was an outstanding dinner. the service is the best you’re going to get on Hilton Head Island (my thanks to Dominic, John, and team). the food was very well prepared, plated, presented, and thoroughly enjoyed. both entrees were specials (A-5 Wagyu Strip and Carolina Tile Fish). they were also perfectly paired with a bottle recommended by sommelier John. this place gets my highest mark of all restaurants on Hilton Head. prove me wrong..

Short and sweet,,, one of the best meals either of us has had in our 67 years. We’ll be going back MANY times.

Fantastic dinner. Food was great and loved the family bistro atmosphere. The sommelier was wonderful and we enjoyed talking with him. Had the cheese plate and fois gras for appetizer and I had the bouillabaisse and my wife had the halibut. Both were excellent. The chocolate mousse was an excellent light dessert to split. We will definitely be back next time we are in Hilton head.

We heard from a local the drinks here are outstanding so we had to stop by and try. Between the restaurant decor, which was regal and the bar, which was beautifully designed, this truly set the ambiance for our drinks. The overall experience with the presentation, even down to how the menu is presented was outstanding! We tried a few drinks and all were excellent! We will have to come back to try the food, but if you’re in need of a great drink, this is definitely the place.

Was there for Friday brunch, Colin took good care of us, the cocktails were great. We had the best French onion soup we’ve had in years and their burger was cooked perfectly. Definitely returning.

We go to Chez Georges every year when we vacation in Hilton Head. This year was an anniversary week so we were treated to a special menu that did not disappoint. The onion soup was awesome as was the venison and chocolate dessert. You just can’t go wrong here.

Fantastic experience! To start off they offered salted butter and foie gras to have with the slices of baguette before our meal. Which was the perfect starter. The steak frites were perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor, and the oxtail onion soup was rich, comforting, and unforgettable. Great ambiance and service as well. Highly recommend!!!

The restaurant lived up to its reputation. Seared frois gras, escargot, eggplant, pork chop, duck, frech onion soup were the best. Finish with a wonderful creme brulee. Sommelier was very helpful too.

It’s difficult to write a review for a place like Chez George’s because it so clearly fits into the community. Each and every person we met was kinder and more welcoming than the last, with that theme echoing through the bar and dining room as waiters met their regulars. The difficulty is that level of enthusiasm and spirit didn’t translate into the best food.
Arriving for happy hour is hit or miss, but we made it in at opening around 1640. We took advantage of the bar specials ordering five plates along with three drinks.
The plates are small. It’s really small. Even for happy hour…small. Not only small, they all lack some luster. From the sauce with the escargot to the mayonnaise on the mussels, it’s just somehow not French. Even worse was seeing our waiters pretend to steal and play with our dishes about to be served behind the bar.
We paid just shy of $200.00 for our meal and left hungry. We had to go get dinner after dinner. And I know it’s happy hour, but sampling half a menu and shelling out that level of money should reflect in a full tank.
We came once and never again.
