If we could leave more than 5 stars, we would! Abby helped us arrange our wedding rehearsal dinner at the restaurant and it was the most magical experience. The atmosphere was absolutely gorgeous and romantic (and we’re still getting comments about that AND the food!), the staff were so attentive and helpful, and the food was to die for! We absolutely adored the duck confit and the chicken and mushrooms (and we heard the beef burgundy was fabulous too, from our family), the mashed potatoes were heavenly, and the desserts were absolutely perfect. My husband melted into his creme brulee and I could have swum in a vat of the chocolate mousse and happily drowned. The staff even boxed up all the leftovers super well for us (which we SO appreciated!). Between the food, the service, and the mission (we chose Chez Genese specifically for the cuisine AND their MO), we are so incredibly happy we had our rehearsal dinner here, and we can’t wait to come back during regular hours for a meal! (We only managed to get photos of the apertifs, which were also, of course, amazing)

The French toast was excellent, some of the best I’ve had lately. The toasted baguette was wonderful and very tasty. Crispy on one side and soft on the other with a perfect butter topping.

I’ve been hearing about Chez Genèse and finally had the time to check it out this morning. Everyone was so friendly, the restaurant itself is super cute, and it took less than five minutes for me to get a table. (Saturdays always look super packed, but that’s to be expected when a place is as good as this.) I ordered off the a la carte menu and asked for scrambled eggs, bacon, and the lemon ricotta pancake with fresh blueberries. Man listen, everything was delicious. The eggs were scrambled perfectly. The bacon was fresh and crispy. The lemon ricotta pancake was unreal. I don’t know how they managed to get the consistency of a pancake creamy and fluffy at the same time but they did and there are zero notes for it. I don’t even care about pancakes but heard everyone raving about it and gave it a shot. No regrets. My waiter (Richmond) was excellent, attentive, and probably some of the best service I’ve had in a while. I will 1000% be back and recommending this place to anyone with taste buds.

What a friendly, delicious experience we had. Lemon ricotta pancakes, yogurt fruit bowl and quiche were amazing. The service and atmosphere is warm, friendly and welcoming. Can’t wait to go back.

I have NEVER -in my whole life- tasted hollandaise sauce this sour before. It tasted like a cup of vinegar was poured in. The whole dish was practically inedible. Scraping did not help since everything was drowning in the vinegar sauce. Definitely do not recommend

One of the best brunch spots I have ever visited. The food here is amazing. The savory crepe was my favorite and is something I would recommend everyone getting. It pairs perfectly with a side of bacon.
My friends and I shared the lemon and blueberry ricotta pancakes and they were as delicious as everyone says they are. Honorable mention to the breakfast pizza, roast chicken on a rosemary biscuit, and their classic mimosas. I also suggest grabbing a cinnamon roll for the road. Warm it up later for a perfect treat.

One of the best breakfast/brunch spots I’ve ever been to in the Piedmont! The food was delicately prepared, delicious, and servings will leave you feeling full. In particular, I received the largest serving of avocado toast I have seen, and it was so good. The latte with chocolate was one of the best lattes I have had in Greensboro as well. After going once, I was back again the next morning. Based on how good everything has been so far, I imagine the entire menu needs to be tried so looks like many more trips ahead for me! Also loved the atmosphere, service, and all around presentation of everything the restaurant had to offer.

Amazing brunch spot in the heart of Greensboro. A hidden gem where you not only get to enjoy delicious food in a place filld with plants, stories and love but also support an incredible mission: fighting for a world where every human has an equal seat at the table.

This is more than a cafe, more than food, more than a beautiful place for great drinks. It’s a movement where 50% of their employees are disabled and 50% are not.

On to the other very important thing here: the food. We ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes, fluffy, moist and for sure guaranteed to fill you up. They’re not the regular feel of a pancake but rather a bit more dense. Absolutely delicious! Highly recommend getting a side of their rosemary potatoes, to DROOL for. They serve up some large portions so come hungry or ready to order a few different things and share.

Other awesome stand outs on their menu are things like their sweet or savory crepes and pain au chocolat. Be sure to check out their cocktails as well that pair so good with all things brunch, from a classic mimosa to vodka lavender lemonade.

There are clear reasons why this place earned their seat in the Top Places to Eat on Yelp!
