Great seafood restaurant. Nice clean decor with artistic murals, professional management. Friendly , and professional waiters. The drinks are fabulous, great bloody caesars and huge martinis. We had soups (lobster bisque) and different entrees. All were great. One of us in our party is allergic to seafood, so I mentioned when I reserved and they had planned accordingly. OveralI a great experience, quality food, reasonable prices on everything, even the wine. The seafood pasta is the best: fresh pasta with large chunks of lobster, jumbo shrimps, scallops and huge clams, in a lobster sauce. I could eat it everyday. Also the lobster ravioli was a hit, generous and fresh. The tables are far apart which is nice, and there are large windows overlooking beautiful buildings. Can’t wait to go back!

Some dishes at Chez Damlo truly shine, offering delightful surprises that keep you eager for your next visit. The service is impeccable, making you feel welcomed, and the ambience creates a relaxing vibe that enhances your dining experience.

The star of the menu was the octopus entrée – succulently tender and bursting with flavour, it was a highlight. On the other hand, the lobster bisque fell flat, being light on lobster and lacking the rich flavour one would hope for.

For mains, the local giant scallops stood out with their impressive size and delightful taste, showcasing the young chef’s skill. Conversely, the lobster club sandwich was disappointing; it was light on lobster and overwhelmed by bacon, overshadowing the seafood.

Based on my experience, I recommend exploring other, non-lobster seafood options here. Overall, you can enjoy a fantastic meal at Chez Damlo.

Оutstanding service from Jordan and Louis!
We came specifically for the frog legs (and even mentioned this when making the reservation), and they were absolutely delicious! The texture was delicate, and the presentation was beautiful. We also really enjoyed the wine recommendations that paired perfectly with the dish.
Jordan and Louis created a wonderful atmosphere throughout the evening, which made our experience at Delmo truly exceptional.
I sincerely recommend visiting this restaurant if you’re planning to be in Montreal!

Lovely seafood restaurant has a great history close to Old Montreal. Starting from friendly welcoming, nice story of the interiors, comforting soups for appetizers and a full list of delicious seafood meals. Highly recommend for any celebrations. A big shoutout for our server, Jorden for great survive tonight. Can’t wait to come back!

I had the pleasure of dining at Chez Delmo this evening and it was delightful in every way possible. I dined at the bar and had the pleasure to meet the owners, who are a joy to converse with, as was the incredible staff. The lobster bisque and the staff recommended walleye were divine. You can truly taste the love that goes into these dishes. It is places like this that remind us how special a dining experience can be. Thank you Benoit, and everyone I had the pleasure to meet!!

This is a late review, so I don’t remember all the details of the dishes. What I do recall is that the food wasn’t particularly impressive, especially considering the price. Service was okay, accommodating enough since we were a big group, but overall the experience didn’t feel worth the cost.

It’s rare to find a restaurant that truly delivers on every front—ambience, service, and most importantly, food—but this place absolutely nailed it. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt inviting, setting the tone for an exceptional dining experience.

We started with a selection of appetizers that impressed across the board. The grilled octopus had a wonderful smoky flavor, perfectly complemented by well-seasoned greens. The calamari was delightfully crispy and light, not greasy. We had the following soups: the tomato soup was rich and creamy with a beautifully balanced flavor, the lobster bisque was loaded with tender lobster chunks, and the clam chowder was indulgently creamy and brimming with fresh clam meat.

For our main courses, we tried the walleye, scallops, the Creole crab and lobster ravioli. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared and bursting with flavor. The ravioli was stuffed generously with real lobster meat and none of the usual tasteless filler (cheese). Every plate was a hit with our group.

Service was top-notch, and a big part of that was thanks to our server, William. He was friendly, attentive, and genuinely made our night better. If you’re heading here, definitely ask for William’s table—he’s exactly the kind of server you hope for when dining out.

This restaurant has earned a spot at the top of my list, and I’ll definitely be back when I’m in Montreal again.

Great seafood restaurant! Top quality, fresh ingredients and generous portions. The greeting is fast and professional, the service is efficient and very
friendly. Arguably the best seafood restaurant in Montreal, certainly the oldest, just a 2 minute walk from the Notre Dame basilica in the Old Port. As you come in you are greeted by one of the owners through the bar section, where you can see the original stools and lamps from the 1930s. You get the feel of a classic neighbourhood joint, full of regulars, very busy. The cocktails are very generous (6 oz martinis). They have an nice seafood tower, very festive . The seafood pasta is outstanding. The Dover sole Meuniere is the house specialty, and it’s the best i’ve had anywhere. Also we tried lobster ravioli, which was a highlight. The staff is young, super friendly and professional, and the owners are charming. Strongly recommend, overall a great value. They offer indoor valet parking for $15

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Chez Delmo during a visit to town for a conference, and I can’t recommend it enough. A large group of us walked in unannounced, and yet, they were able to accommodate us immediately, which speaks volumes about their hospitality. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between relaxed and classy, offering a setting that is both elegant and welcoming.

Owner Benoit was an absolute delight—his warmth and charisma added a personal touch that made the experience even more memorable. Our server, David, was equally impressive. He was not only attentive and professional, but also incredibly informative, ensuring we felt taken care of throughout the meal.

Each dish was absolutely exquisite and the entire experience, from the ambiance to the food to the service, was nothing short of unforgettable. If you’re ever in town, make sure to visit Chez Delmo, it’s an absolute gem.

I came to get a little drink with my friend and the service was excellent. What was initially a little detour to get a glass of wine ended up being a wholesome experience!! The owner Benoit offered us a warm welcome. Our waiter mandjou kept us entertained with the history of the establishment, the barman Jordan served us wonderful glasses and made insane cocktails. The runner Cedric was extremely polite and it showed that this restaurant is filled with professionals I love it!
