Chez Bamboo is one of those unforgettable island gems that captures your heart the moment you walk in. The atmosphere is vibrant and full of character—part lively local spot, part cozy hideaway, with music, laughter, and that unmistakable Caribbean charm drifting through the air.

The food was okay. Every plate was full of flavor and clearly made with care, from the fresh seafood to the creative specials. You can taste the love in the cooking. The cocktails were spot-on too—tropical, strong, and perfect for a night under the island stars.

What truly makes Chez Bamboo special is the energy. It feels like a gathering place—locals, travelers, great music, and friendly staff who treat you like an old friend. Whether you’re coming for dinner, drinks, or late-night fun, it has a heartbeat all its own.

By the end of the night, we weren’t just full—we were happy. Chez Bamboo isn’t just a restaurant… it’s an experience, a vibe, a little slice of BVI soul.

If you’re visiting the island, make sure you spend an evening here. You’ll leave smiling and already planning your return.

Chez Bamboo is one of the most special places on Virgin Gorda, and in all of the BVI! There’s no one like Rose, the owner and her incredible staff. I’ve been lucky enough to visit VG since I was a baby, and have been eating at Chez Bamboo for decades. It’s only gotten better. Last year Rose helped me plan my dream wedding at Chez with dinner, dancing, live music. Everything was seamless, the food and cocktails perfection. She even did my wedding cake, decor, and helped book different live musicians. It was the trip of a lifetime and one my family and friends will never forget. Can’t wait to come back to Chez Bamboo for years and years to come! If you’re lucky enough to get to VG, this is a MUST.

We went to Chez Bamboo for happy hour today. The staff were attentive, flexible, and friendly. More importantly for anyone looking for original and delicious cocktails, ask for Eldon. He is the bartender there and is an emerging and talented mixologist. We tried his newest creations, all of which were amazing. We met Rose, the owner, and she was welcoming and full of inside information. We cannot recommend this place enough.

Super friendly service, nicely done little garden with some road noise during the day. We had burgers (not fantastic) and the beet salad with shrimp (very tasty but largely devoid of beets).

All in all would go again for the pleasant experience and walkable distance from shore, not the food in particular.

Thank you very much. We will surely come back and I will update accordingly. Have a great day!

Service was a bit slow but friendly. I had the curry fish special and it was overcooked and dry. They were out of the side I ordered and substituted it for something else without asking me.

Mojito (the blue drink pictured) had no fresh mint and taste like toothpaste (mint liquor). I understand there can be produce procurement issues on the island but the substitution was not suitable. Not to mention it was expensive ($18). Better to not offer a drink you cannot make.

They have 3 separate menus: dinner, “Asian menu”, and specials menu. I feel having this many options is a red flag for any restaurant. Better to stick to a smaller menu and do a few dishes better. Instead, they had a lot of mediocre/bad dishes.
