Every single dish we had was excellent, but the rigatoni completely blew me away. Rich, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor, it’s one of those plates you keep thinking about after the meal is over. We also had the fried rice, which was surprisingly great and had a nice little spicy kick that kept it interesting without overpowering anything.
The bread assortment deserves its own mention. It was insane in the best way and set the tone for the rest of the meal. Thoughtful, well executed, and clearly done with care.
Presentation across the board was beautiful, but never felt like style over substance. The food tasted as good as it looked. The staff was another highlight. Everyone was incredibly friendly, helpful, and genuinely accommodating without feeling forced or scripted.
I also loved the family-style table concept. It made the whole experience feel more relaxed, more social, and honestly just more fun. The vibe was right, the food was dialed in, and the overall experience felt special without being pretentious.
This is a place that gets everything right. Food, service, atmosphere, all top notch. I’ll definitely be back.
The ambiance was just as impressive—elegant yet relaxed, with the perfect lighting and music to set the tone for a great night out. But what truly made the evening unforgettable was the service. It was hands down the best service I’ve experienced at any restaurant in Long Beach in a very long time. Attentive, warm, and genuinely welcoming from start to finish.
Chez Bacchus has definitely earned a spot at the top of our list, and we can’t wait to come back.
We ended up wanting to go out for a quick dinner, called ahead, and they thankfully had open availability and told us to come right in. This was one of the BEST meals we have had in a very long time. The service and hospitality was unmatched. Specifically our waiter, Michael, took amazing care of us.
We had told him that we were celebrating my husband’s birthday. Unfortunately, it being after a holiday and at the end of the weekend, the entree that my husband wanted was sold out. Michael made our appetizer into an entree size, brought us both a fantastic glass of wine and this unreal bread basket with garlic —-all of which he had comped for us.
As for the rest of the food, it was one of the best meals that we have had in a very very long time. Everything was delicious. The homemade bread is fresh and especially wonderful with the garlic. Additionally, the balsamic vinegar was amazing. My husband loved the octopus. The short rib pasta was outstanding. The meat was incredibly tender and flavorful, practically melting into the sauce, and paired perfectly with the pasta. Lastly, the European sea bass was cooked to perfection, tasty, and fresh.
To end the meal, Michael brought us the fried-to-order beignets. This was the perfect way to end my husband’s birthday. The beignets were light, airy, and beautifully crisp on the outside while soft and fluffy on the inside. They immediately reminded us of puff puff, a beloved Nigerian treat from my husband’s culture. The texture and flavor were very similar, bringing a comforting, nostalgic feeling with every bite. It was such a meaningful way to end the night.
We live out of town, but will 1000000% be back. Thank you!!!
