Located in the hungry pearl food court. The rost pork was delicious with a side order of rice and plantains that were cooked to perfection. Customer service was good.

There are not many Puerto Rican fritura restaurants left in the city. I had a last minute need for Christmas eve dinner for many family. Mike from Chevere really ne helped out. I had to call 2 days before Christmas eve with a catering order because my family was going through a medical emergency. I wanted them to have as normal a Christmas as possible. He gave me no problems and assured me all would be taken care of. The food was excellent his service was amazing. I worked in retail and customer service for many years and this is exactly what you expect from a quality establishment. If you find yourself in NYC and are looking for some good Puerto Rican food you need to stop by Chevere! Thank you Mike

Delicious! I really was thinking about making a video and sharing how good it was but I couldn’t stop eating so it will have to be for next time! I also bought pasteles that looked really good and can’t wait for Christmas to enjoy! Arroz con gandules was really delicious too. From one Boricua to another WEPAAAAA recommend. Stop here if you are in NYC! BUEN PROVECHO!

The alcapurria was too toasted for my liking however it tasted good. I had white rice, beans and masitas de pollo. I loved the masitas they were well seasoned and the texture was great. Recommend it if you are looking for Puerto Rican food.

Fell off insanely. Rice tastes like nothing now. They don’t even send the sauces. Chicken chunks now come 60% salad. Every time I order I hope it goes back to the regular program from 2 year ago leading to disappointment. Last time I order from here.

Wepa! We decided to try Que Chevere for an authentic Puerto Rican meal, especially since we had someone with us who missed the flavors of home. Located in a lively food hall, Que Chevere offers a straightforward menu where you can choose from prearranged bowls or build your own.

We opted to build our own bowls, and we were not disappointed. The rice was bursting with flavor, a perfect base for our meal. The chicken was perfectly seasoned, soft, and tender, pairing wonderfully with both sauces provided. The rice and beans, along with the plantains, made the dish truly well-rounded.

This spot is definitely one we’ll return to for more delicious meals. A local even mentioned that Que Chevere is their go-to place for lunch, and after tasting the food, we can see why.

Highly recommend it!

Can’t believe there’s no reviews on this place and I’m glad to be the first with an authentic review as I’m Puertorican myself. I never really go this far downtown but had a job interview and was STARVING. I saw the flags through the glass as I walked by and had to come in and support my people and I’m glad I did. 1000/10 will come again and definitely recommend. Food was so delicious it took me to the island. Got the bowl with pernil arroz con gandules and maduros with kola champagne as my drink. Please support as the food is worth it and fast service. Cilantro sauce AMAZING.

Que Chevere is such a great find within Essex Market (located downstairs in the Market Line) and all their food is truly made with LOVE FROM PUERTO RICO. They offer such delicious and authentic Puerto Rican food – I absolutely loved the shrimp mofongo, the shrimp was sooo good and cooked perfectly, it had a ton of flavor. You must try their amazing empanadas – I tried a beef one and it was great, also loved the salsas it came with.
