Smelled old and musty… kinda like urine. Service was good and friendly. Baked beans tasted like a on clearance can from Grocery Outlet. Salad was lettuce and slice of tomato…really, no cheese or anything else. Prices that you would pay at a high end, well know seafood restaurant. Fried pickles were really greasy…really greasy. Banana pudding was good. Good beer prices. Overall, $40 for two wouldn’t go back and wouldn’t recommend.

After 2 recent visits- Oh My! A New Orleans area transplant to Pace, FL, I thought I’d have to forget about great food flavors. I’ve always found Chet’s Crab Claws, Mullet, and Fried Seafood menu, served by friendly staff in a homey atmosphere to be as good as anybody’s and better than most; but a recently arrived chef with some obvious credentials has brought a New Dimension to Pace dining! I had a difficult choice selecting Pecan Crusted Snapper with richly flavored sauce and accompaniments from Several Fine-Dining offerings which sounded equally as mouthwatering. I was back home in Food Country- it was Superb! My wife also raved about her perfectly prepared Tasso Coated fish selection- now she want me to start taking her out to eat again! The optional wine pairings were well chosen, and portion was so generous neither of us could finish. Prices were Very moderate compared to our favorite restaurants serving similar quality. Yes the atmosphere is still quite homey, service is still very friendly, and it might cost a tad more than chain food; but having two such restaurants in one, in Pace Florida!, has got to be the best food thing happened to me lately. Count us as Regulars

It’s truly sad that they are now closed down, but I was extremely lucky one night when my Dad & I decided to go. The last 2 times we tried, they were closed! That was aggravating to say the least!! We used to go at least 2x/month, but we hadn’t gone for nearly 6 months! It was truly Fate that brought us out to Chet’s that night.. A Mecca of old fashioned Southern fried seafood, Chet’s was surely a local treasure of cultural cuisine, that will always be missed and can never be duplicated. I thank the owners for providing some of the best seafood in the region!

This location is PERMANENTLY CLOSED! Phooey.
Their seafood was ALWAYS fresh, superbly prepared and tasty. Their key lime pie was heavenly! Service was always friendly and professional. I can only hope the other “Chet’s” on Navy Blvd in Pensacola is as good as this one was.
Sad to see it go as there are now NO “real seafood” restaurants in the immediate vicinity of Pace, FL. We WILL try the Pensacola restaurant at least once.

Chet’s is a decent little place if you are in Pace, FL and have the urge for some seafood. Fried mullet and fried oysters are tasty and most of the side items are typical and nothing extraordinary. The staff are always kind, courteous and work hard to make your dining experience pleasant. I would recommend eating here for lunch as the prices are fair and portion sizes good. One word of caution, this restaurant has weird hours. They open at 11:00 a.m. for lunch but close at 2:00 p.m.. Dinner hours are 4 -9 if I am not mistaken?

This was our first time eating at Chet’s. Our waitress was super sweet and the atmosphere was good. My husbands $16.95 shrimp poboy(popcorn shrimp) and fries was not worth it. Too much bread for those tiny shrimp and the bread was very dry. The dinner plate shrimp needs to be used for the poboys. Popcorn shrimp is for the kids menu. The salad needs some attention too. Lettuce and a sliced tomato. Really? My shrimp plate was good, but we probably won’t go back.

The atmosphere and waitress were awesome. The menu compared to what they claim to have online is false…
We all went with our hearts set on certain items that they didnt have. Also…considering there was only 4 of us and we only ordered 2 fish dinners, a po-boy, and a combo with 4 teas, I feel 72 dollars was an insane price. Offer what your online menu claims and lower the prices and ill be back…till then I wouldnt waste my time.

I’m super bummed to learn that the marinated grouper has been replaced with marinated “white fish.” I feel like a self respecting seafood restaurant should list what kind of fish it’s serving at all times. HOWEVER, the rest of the selection is still good.

I’m not much of a seafood guy, but my family loves seafood. So there I was stranded with no meal to cope with, but then out of the blue, I saw the one and only chicken fingers. It was like the chicken fingers were trying to talk to me. I felt there message so I ordered the chicken fingers. And man, the chicken fingers were so rad

I have eaten at Chet’s for 30 yrs and sadly tonight was the last time. Over priced, waited 25 min for a barely warm dinner and yes the salad was lettuce and one small slice of tomato. We did get right on though because it was pretty empty. Now we know why. So sad!
