Went to Chet’s Lakeside Inn with my Dad for dinner. As always, it was delicious & the staff were delightful! The chicken was so perfectly done as usual. The batter was golden, crispy & buttery while the inside was juicy & full of flavor throughout. Ive never had chicken that falls off the bone like it does at Chets. Sadly, I don’t get there as often as I’d like to but that makes it all the more amazing when I do. The atmosphere is always busy and buzzing with conversations from corner to corner. One little hint, make a reservation as they get very busy very quickly. Even at their busiest, the service is the best.

5:00 Wednesday night. Third inline to get in. Our group of 12 had a table set up waiting since we called ahead (3:30). Everyone ordered chicken. We enjoyed the salad bar (included with the dinner). The Kids were so excited to see chocolate moose next to beets

Chet’s chicken is a local favorite with famous chicken. The coating of the chicken was developed by the owner many years ago and is flavorful and keeps even the white pieces moist. Older building, but clean. It has a small salad bar but everything on it is excellent Staff are friendly. They don’t credit cards but have a ATM. With a larger group consider reservations.

The Prime Rib was so good it makes many other prime rib joints seem like they should not even be in business. The atmosphere made me feel like I was going back in time to the great supper clubs of the 70s, only thing missing was cigarette smoke in the air at Chet’s .

Got in right after opening, fourth in line, took over an hour to get our order, wife had the prime rib and chicken special, she said it was good. I had the seafood shipwreck, walleye and cod were exteremly overcooked, shrimp were good though. Service friendly but very slow.

This place is absolutely amazing! The food here will definitely not disappoint you. I got the chicken and prime rib special and both were exquisite. The chicken is probably what they do best.
Honestly this place is a great hidden gem. Give it a shot you won’t be disappointed. Get the chicken.

It is still very good even after 20 years. Very down home atmosphere with great chicken!! The only thing I would as is that they keep up the salad bar. It got low and did not get replenished while we were there. Other wise it was awesome, a little greasy but that is what brings out the flavor. Very moist!
