Stopped at the Chester’s Chicken inside the Love’s on Barnes St and ordered the 3 piece chicken tender meal with wedges. The chicken tenders were excellent I bit into one and it practically exploded with juices. Easily one of the best tenders I’ve had at a travel stop.
The wedge portion was pretty small, served in a small bag that only fit about four wedges. The biscuit was dry and a little hard, which was the main letdown.
That said, the staff was very friendly and welcoming, and the chicken itself was outstanding. If they improved the sides a bit, this would be an easy 5-star stop.

I stopped here on Christmas Eve with a flat tire and left here filled with the Christmas spirit. The store was clean and well kept. All the food was fresh and looked real delicious. But the real magic was the three young ladies behind the counter who were real friendly and we’re nice enough to point me in the direction of a good local tire shop. I came in feeling defeated and left with a full stomach and a renewed optimism for my trip. The food was good and fresh and I felt better thanks to those young ladies and their infectious good spirt and great customer service.

Chris on top of being rude has a bad attitude today! I like Chester’s and enjoy the gizzards. Well when I asked Chris if he could make me an order he quickly said no that he couldn’t make them because he was the only person there so I walked away and went to the restroom to wash my hands and came back a few minutes later to order chicken and found an second employee battering up some chicken behind Chris so I figured Chris just didn’t want to do it before because he was overwhelmed so I asked the second employee if they would make me some gizzards and very nicely the employee said yes not a problem it’s going to take about 20 minutes and started to go to the refrigerator they have back there to get the gizzards and I said thank you. Well Chris didn’t like this at all and said something under his breath to his co worker and then all of the sudden they didn’t have any gizzards now. Before you text me back telling me that the 2nd employee was mistaken and there really weren’t any gizzards because the public is reading this and you have no choice but to lie just don’t! Accept the fact that Chris didn’t want to do it for whatever reason and I can accept that anyone can have a bad day just don’t follow in Chris’s footsteps. Just like anyone else who has kids and has gotten to be my age I know when someone is lying to me because if you really were out of gizzards Chris wouldn’t have told me he couldn’t prepare them because he was alone and the second employee after being told by Chris not to make them is obviously not a liar and more so an honest person because it was written all over their face. I will not be giving this Chester’s location any more of my business but will frequent other locations thank you.

If it smells like burnt oil and not like chicken, the oil is either reused or exactly that, it’s burnt! Pick a healthier choice. Be safe!

This is one of those chesters that they cut the chicken in half but not the price. One of the pieces of chicken I got was so rubbery my dog couldn’t even eat it. She is a 6-month old 60 lb puppy. She is a Cane Corso. It wasn’t burnt it was rubber. They only give you one side with your meal with no drink. Or a drink with no sides with your combo. They want to cut everything in half but They don’t want to cut that price in half. I am actually flagging this loves on my GPS so I know not to stop here again.

I just bought a 12 piece with 2 sides, biscuits and a sweet tea from this place. The chicken was dry, the potato wedges were spongy and nasty. And the tea tasted spoiled. I took it at back and they refused to refund me any of the money. Along with a side of attitude. I will never frequent that place again. And I’ll be sure to pass the word along. $34.87 completely wasted!

Love it! Great customer service, crew is nice and ready to help. Got the chicken tenders with the barbecue sauce and two sides, mac and cheese and potato wedges, the chicken tenders were flavorful, juicy and big, mac and cheese was very good and the potato wedges were huge and delicious! A bit on the pricey side but it definitely worth it.

Best food I’ve had ALL YEAR!! The apple pies were delicious, as well as the chicken! Jerry was our server and he was EXTREMELY helpful. We had been driving all day from a wedding in Alabama and stopped in for gas. Jerry explained all the different menu options and was super courteous. He even made us some pies right out of the oven!! Did not expect to be so surprised!!!! Thanks Jerry!!

Friendly service, clean tabled and decent chicken for the price. As a truck stop environment with McDonald’s next door, turnover of the product probably doesn’t happen as often as in other venues. Fairly crispy pieces but not as fresh from being kept under heat lamps before being served.
