Today we came in, ordered in and ate in. The woman that took our order was very nice and friendly. She took our order correctly because I was able to read it on the small screen in front of me. We went around 12:30 p.m. and it wasn’t crowded. There were some people that came in and out while we were there and a few that sat and ate in.
I had a cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, a sunny side up egg, all on an egg bagel. We shared an order of mozzarella sticks. My boyfriend had a cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato and onions on a garlic bagel.
The mozzarella sticks were delicious
The breading was perfect and crispy. They were not greasy or too salty. My only complaint is that the marinara sauce was very cold and I didn’t like the cold marinara sauce on the hot mozzarella stick. My tastes buds were confused. Besides that, they were perfect!
My burger order was supposed to come with a sunny side up egg on it which was missing so I did have to send it back to get the egg. Due to the egg shortage, eggs have an extra charge so I definitely wanted to make sure I got my egg! After they brought back my sandwich, the egg was not sunny side up and was overcooked and just fried which I wasn’t crazy about. The burger was a little too cooked for my taste. It was well done but it’s also a thinner burger. I normally eat my burgers medium. Overall I would say it was a good burger. This is the first time I’ve had a burger on a bagel before and that was an interesting combination that I enjoyed and would get again. I would also like to make a recommendation that they put two slices of cheese on their burgers because one slice really doesn’t do much. My boyfriend said the same thing about the cheese. He enjoyed his sandwich and said it was very good.
Both Burger sandwiches came with fries and the fries were also delicious. They had the perfect combination of crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. They were not too salty but also didn’t require additional salt.
We finished up our food and when we went to leave, the very friendly lady at the front said goodbye to us which was very nice. We will definitely be eating here again!
When I was there the first time, I noticed they had other breakfast options so I decided to take my daughter on a Saturday morning. She ordered pancakes with chocolate chips and I ordered the eggs benedict. My daughter loves chocolate chip pancakes but only ate about 1/3 and took the rest home. When I asked how they were she said they were “okay” and she didn’t have any desire to finish them when we got home.
The eggs benedict is supposed to come with home fries which, as you can see from the picture, did not. Instead it came with a tiny cup of fruit. What you will also see in the picture is a bunch of mixed greens which are not listed on the menu. I knew it came with avocado and tomato but I was not expecting mixed greens. Instead of avocado slices, there was an extremely thin layer of mashed avocado and whatever spices they put in it were not to my liking. The Capicola was very thin and had very little flavor as was the case with the hollandaise sauce so all I could taste were the mixed greens and whatever spices they’d put in the mashed avocado. On top of that, trying to cut through the toppings and a bagel with a plastic knife was not very easy. Providing an actual knife would have been nice.
In addition to the food, we each got a drink from the cooler so our total was just under $25. I’m all for trying new places and supporting small businesses, but there are several diners in the area where I can get the same food which tastes much better for the same or less money.
