The food was amazing and tasted good. The portion sizes were amazing. The waiter kept checking in to make sure we were ok and had everything we needed. It was a nice quiet atmosphere to chat with everyone at the table.

I have visited tons of diners in my lifetime and this is certainly not my favorite one. While sentimental part of me wants to be nice and feel bad for an elderly waitress who tried her best but still managed to mess up the order – i must be fair… so
Owner or manager (not sure) kept smiling but then sat three tables away from us with his phone and had a very loud personal conversation…. Food came out super fast and wasnt terrible but wasnt best NJ diners can offer..
Nachos supreme were smaller than typical size at the diners while pricier than most. Overall (must be Chester taxes) prices were about 25% higher than most diners..
Menu is smaller in options (which is not bad or good) than most diners that have a menu – size of encyclopedia.
We had chicken soup, nachos, buffalo wings and buffalo chicken salad. Overall – solid three stars. Maybe their breakfast is better

Perfectly reasonable diner, but getting a little expensive.
*NOTE: The photos of the menu are very, very obsolete. The current price (November 2025) for a western omelette is $13, which is WAY over the price shown in the photo. My total for the omelette, coffee, tax and tip crossed the $20 line.
Food-wise, this was a competent diner-style omelette. The ingredients were stirred into the eggs, and then it was cooked flat and then folded over to fit on the plate. The home fries were good, with some veggies mixed in. The coffee was pretty good.
Service was excellent. My waiter was attentive, and got everything right. The restaurant was clean with comfortable seating.
Weirdly, they sat all of the people who asked for booths (apparently everybody who was there when I was there) in adjacent booths, instead of spreading us out the occupied tables. This made for a somewhat noisier breakfast than I’d have liked.

I was greeted pleasantly and enthusiastically, it was earlier on this Sunday morning. I took a look over the menu, your basic diner menu without a lot of choices, and I don’t mind that at all. I asked for rye toast and instead got dry, cold white toast. The butter wouldn’t even melt on it. The omelette was your basic folded over eggs with filling thrown in. I still can’t find a place around here to get a real omelette but I will keep trying. The home fries were okay, very starchy. I couldn’t finish them. All in all, not really worth the effort to drive 20 minutes to get here.

It was my first time ever visiting and I hope next time is better. I want to start off by saying our server Jamie was great, came to visit her because she is a wonderful person and one of my favorite servers. When I first arrived who ever the hostess was needs to check her attitude. If someone isn’t comfortable in a booth seat, there is no need whatsoever to start rolling your eyes then through a tantrum like a toddler. She puts her hands up and said “sit wherever then” and stormed into the kitchen. I sat down and thought oh boy. Our service from Jamie was impeccable. I didn’t not get a picture of it because I devoured it but the Matzah Ball soup was delicious! My mother loved her dish. I thought my Cuban Panini was dry overall; the ham, turkey, not enough cheese and there was only a few drops of mustard. I’ll have to try something different next time. Once we were done with walked up to pay our bill, and the hostess was giving my mom dagger eyes. I think she was entirely unprofessional and shouldn’t be the first person you see walking into that diner. I will be back to try more of the menu.

Went in on a Friday morning, plenty of parking, the booths are a little close together, so you can hear the next person‘s conversation, the waitress was nice. But we were not as comfortable as we have been at other diners. The eggs and bacon was good and came out fast, nothing bad to say just not the best diner we have been to.

That was very friendly and the place was so clean and enjoyable. I can’t give a diner five stars though because of the salt and chewy bacon but it’s what you expect from a diner and they have quite an extensive menu. Definitely great. Price was normal for today.

Everyone at the office loved the paninis, sweet potato fries and Greek salad today!!!!! Folks also loved the coleslaw!!!! Everything was fresh!!!! We have used you before and will definitely be placing more catering orders with Chester Diner.
