Tom is a blessing! Dedicated to Cherie inn for 18 years! Visiting from out of town you made me feel at home. Never once did I have to ask for anything because you were one step ahead from coffee to napkins. I loved watching you interact with your regulars. You are a light to those around you. Amazing food and service. The history of this place is plus too! Should I ever visit again I will come back!

This place has the best biscuits and gravy in Grand Rapids. It’s a smaller restaurant space so go early to avoid waiting for a table. The staff are super friendly and always quick to refill those coffee cups. Pictured is the biscuits and gravy (chef’s kiss) perfection!

Let’s start with the inside display a very large gentleman greeted us within a couple of steps from the door a small table & a chair in the pathway couldn’t fit. The water glasses were dirty I informed the waiter to bring a second pair the one brought back had dirty oily finger prints. coffee It was $3 my friend ordered from the vegan section and the veggies were spoiled not only could you taste it was a odor unfortunately he complained and the large gentleman that was at the entrance happened to be the manager he informed us that he would take a look at it and that it was his second day open not sure how we care about that when we informed him about the dissatisfaction of the dish no apologies or anything we end up going to another establishment to eat that’s $40 dollars we won’t get back. Upon some other guests departure noticed a lady using nothing but her hands to clean up the sits and table no sort of disinfectant. You could hear everyone conversation

This is a great place to come eat in a historic diner. The staff is friendly and accommodating. All our food was delicious and came out hot and fresh. Prices were also very reasonable for what you get.

Wow! Absolutely blown away by the delicious food and the impeccable service. Our server went above and beyond to ensure a memorable experience. I couldn’t decide what I wanted and when asked for a recommendation he said he’d surprise me. I received a personalized combo of multiple dishes – flavors so rich and remarkably complex. Homemade granola – yum! Don’t skip the hazelnut coffee. Will definitely be back!

The food was just ok. Reuben was served without the sauce. The potato au gratin was flavorful but a bit mushy for me. The beef tenderloin Benedict was delicious, meat was tender. The huevos rancheros were not good, too much tomato sauce. Prices are reasonable. Original restrooms so they are tiny. Not sure if they take reservations but people were getting ahead of us because they had called ahead. Not sure what this is all about but, unless you are entertaining or a local, I can’t imagine returning. Food is just ok. I think it’s the ambiance, nostalgia and cozy environment that keep people returning not so much the quality of the food. Nice staff, clean restrooms.

Haven’t been in since the late 80’s, early 90’s. Thought we’d give it a shot. We were warmly greeting and sat immediately. Our server was very attentive and our food was better than expected. If you haven’t been, check them out, you won’t be disappointed!

Cherie Inn is a very cute and quaint establishment, with very nice staff in a very calm atmosphere. Definitely a place I could see myself bringing my parents when they visit. The food did take a little long, but the drinks we ordered came out really fast so it was not a big deal. I loved the interior, it was very charming. I learned that this is the longest running restaurant in Grand Rapids which is pretty cool! The food was tasty, but I think the next time I come I would order something different. I ordered the European breakfast and i think I just needed a little more substance. Overall, I think if you are in GR, Cherie Inn is an institution that you definitely need to check out for breakfast/brunch! It’s in a great location, and you can take a stroll to some cute little shops after you eat. Definitely recommend!
