Finally checked out Cheongsu in Fort Lee for a weekend date.

The Korean Special weekday set is a really good deal. It comes with tea and a selection of pastries and traditional Korean sweets. Everything was beautifully plated. The berry jelly dessert was especially refreshing.

The Matcha Fromage looked like a piece of art. The outer shell isn’t edible, but the cake itself isn’t overly sweet and has a nice matcha flavor.

The Perilla Hoji Financier was actually my favorite — super fragrant and balanced. The Nuts Yakgwa was sweet and chewy with lots of crushed nuts on the outside.

We also got oat milk lattes (one hot, one iced) and both were surprisingly good.

Great spot for dates or afternoon coffee. I’d recommend going on a weekday for the special set and fewer crowds.

This dessert spot is super cute and well themed. It was also super crowded when we arrived. We came around 1:30 pm on a Saturday. We managed to snag three seats by the bar right by the front door, but it was definitely hard to find seating at this time. Also, I would recommend you speak to the waitstaff behind the dessert counter first before sitting down. There is a digital menu to order from, but seating seems to be controlled by the staff. We ordered from the digital menu and got a mandarin orange ade, a strawberry matcha milk, and a matcha fromage. I ordered the strawberry matcha milk with oat milk, and it tasted amazing. The server recommended we stir it well, and I would second that advice given the strawberry flavoring really sits at the bottom and tastes better mixed in throughout. The fromage we ordered had a dusting of matcha powder on top and chestnuts mixed in with the cream between the layers of cake. The cake is the perfect size shared between three people. The black bread fluffs were also slightly salty, so the entire cake was a beautiful medley of flavors. I would highly recommend this dessert shop to try! I understand the prices are slightly on the more expensive side, but it was nonetheless a good tasting experience. The upstairs is currently undergoing renovation, so the cafe is definitely facing some over crowding, but it just means we are extremely excited for when the upstairs eventually does open up!

I was honestly surprised to find a place like this in Fort Lee. It feels super calm and thoughtfully designed, almost like a hidden getaway. The Strawberry Matcha Bingsu was beautiful and actually stayed creamy and sweet all the way through, not icy at all. The strawberries were fresh and the matcha flavor was really balanced. We also tried the Strawberry Fromage cake, which was light, not too sweet, and had a really nice strawberry texture at the bottom. The Korean tea set was the highlight for sure, with such a good variety of traditional sweets that were fun to try and not overwhelming. Everything felt carefully made and great for sharing with friends. Definitely a spot I’d come back to if you like desserts that look good and taste even better.

This was my second visit to Cheongsudang, and it was just as amazing as the first time. The food is absolutely delicious, and everyone is so kind and welcoming. I will definitely be coming back again.
My husband is a total foodie with high standards, and he said the Dubai Chewy Cookie here is the best he’s ever had
We went around 1 PM today and it wasn’t crowded at all, which made the experience even better. The Saturday before last was pretty busy, and we felt a little rushed because of the crowd. But today we were able to relax and truly enjoy everything at our own pace. Highly recommend!

Went there on a Saturday afternoon and the place is full. We need to wait for about 10mins or so to be seated. Would love to try their pancakes and scones but they are not available. The ones we ordered are really good though – Strawberry Fromage, Peach drink and their Korean sampler set.

Ordered a few items and the matcha bingsoo was definitely the standout. The mixed dessert platter was nice for sampling a variety of things, though not everything hit flavor-wise. I forget the name of the cake, but I wouldn’t recommend it despite it looking so pretty. Unfortunately, I can’t give this place 5 stars because it’s so crowded and crammed. I felt rushed to finish and leave because of all the people standing around, waiting to be seated. If they took reservations, this would probably solve this overcrowding issue.

The owner was very nice and informative about his products. The cafe itself is very aesthetic and beautiful. The drinks and desserts are a great fusion of Asian flavors. Will have to come back for dine in.

A charming little house with lanterns in the garden and wooden steps leading up to beautiful wooden doors, the exterior is absolutely inviting and picturesque.
When we walked in, it was packed and very loud. We ordered a strawberry matcha and a latte to go. Surprisingly, the order was ready within a minute. However, when they called my name, it was extremely loud, and I couldn’t even get to the counter because people were crowding the space and trying to leave, it felt like a traffic jam inside. They called my name again just as loudly.
As for the drinks, the strawberry matcha was overwhelmingly sweet, it tasted like it had at least five spoonfuls of sugar. We just eded up throwing it. The latte was okay, nothing special.
After reading some mixed reviews about the desserts, I’m honestly glad we decided to skip them.

With its picture-ready plates, Cheongsu lies at the intersection of art and desserts. The cafe is in inside what looks like a two-family converted home, which makes the entryway feel strangely like coming to someone’s house. Once inside, the space is tight but cozy. An enormous front window and skylights provide lots of ambiance, which may have been why it was abuzz with so many customers on a weekday afternoon.

There’s a large bar area that takes up a good fraction of the overall space, but much of it is used to prepare drinks and desserts. The actual ordering process takes place through one of two standalone kiosks. Considering how steady the foot traffic and how detail-oriented the workers had to be to make the drinks and desserts, I was surprised at how quickly our order came out.

The desserts are a sight. We snagged a spot close to the kitchen window so we were able to sneak a glance into the painstaking process that went into their signature fromage desserts. They’re like small square landscapes with a sponge base, a whipped cheese-based mousse, and hand-broken black sesame sponges. What I assumed would be style over substance turned out to be a light, airy, well-balanced dessert. We got the matcha fromage, and I appreciated how the sprinkling of matcha powder helped counteract the overall sweetness. For our beverage, we ordered a caramel macchiato, which was a smaller than expected serving but delicious.

Though the vibes are calm and unhurried, this definitely didn’t feel like the sort of cafe where one could linger. With new parties coming through and building up queues that clogged the little standing space in the main room, it didn’t feel right to hang onto a table for too long (and, as my husband noticed, the chairs are too hard to sit for too long without discomfort). Everything on the menu is pretty fancy and made-to-order, and the prices definitely reflect that. Thankfully, there’s an adjoining lot with a few free parking spots to offset the expensive cafe visit (heed the warnings others have left about the tight and steep ramp – it’s hard to angle your car into it and I could see how some would scrape the bottom of their car if they tried to enter or exit at a certain speed).
