This place had always been on my list. Unfortunately, it was only open until 9 PM and we arrived around 8. By the time we got settled, we felt rushed while dining.

They mentioned they had low foot traffic that day, so they were planning to close early, and after that, we couldn’t really enjoy the food.

That said, the ambience was really nice. The restaurant serves cuisine from the Sichuan region of China, and if you’re planning to try their Sichuan dishes, just be prepared—they’re spicy and mouth‑numbing, but in a good way!

We ordered two of their popular dishes:

Spicy Cumin Lamb
Triple Pepper Chicken

Both were amazing and very different from typical Chinese dishes. Their Sichuan flavors are really good and that set them apart from regular Chinese restaurants.

Aside from the “we’re closing soon” pressure, the food was amazing. I’ll try their Lunch menu soon

Was on a hunt for authentic Chinese food, particularly the fried flounder, and Chengdu didn’t disappoint. The egg drop soup with minced beef (Westlake soup) was light and comforting. Enjoyed the pan-fried flounder with ginger and scallion soy sauce, Yang Chow fried rice, and Chinese broccoli. BF loved the spicy cumin lamb; it’s not my favorite, but he finished it. Service was prompt and friendly despite being busy on a Saturday night.

Great food and service. Plenty of vegetarian options.

Veg dumplings- fried and crisp- hard to mess these up

Veg Fried Rice- great flavor right ratio of rice to veg- dont want it overpowered with too many veggies haha

General Tso Tofu- these were fresh and crisp too- def not a dish for takeaway or delivery else you miss the texture

Spicy Cumin Tofu- unique dish great savory contrast to the other tofu dish

Chinese Broccoli- I think these are seasonal

Worth the visit if you are vegetarian!

We came here after a movie, and despite the restaurant being busy, the host was very friendly and seated us quickly. I really appreciate efficient service—no unnecessary long waits.
The menu is more unique than a typical Chinese restaurant, which I loved. I’m a big fan of Sichuan food, especially the bold, spicy flavors, and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. Every dish was spot-on.
We’ll definitely be back to try more dishes. Highly recommend!

My family and I absolutely love this restaurant and have been regulars since August. We’ve had fantastic food and service every single time, and we’ve even gotten takeout on multiple visits. The male servers are always super friendly and helpful.
We were really looking forward to lunch today, but it was a bummer when we arrived at 2:40 PM. The female host told us we’d have to be done with our food in just 20 minutes because they were closing at 3:00 PM, so we decided to leave. We were extra confused when we saw a sign on the door saying the break was from 3:30 to 4:30 PM. We’re big fans, so this was an unexpected and disappointing experience.

Best Chinese food in the area, we drive almost 30 min to go here instead of going to our local place. Our favorite things are the chicken w string beans in garlic sauce and the orange chicken. Always fast and delicious. If you have not tried them yet, go eat there tonight.

I have heard such great things about this restaurant that I finally was in the area and got take out. The staff is very friendly and the restaurant itself is beautiful. Might I go back and dine in just for the atmosphere? Maybe. However, overall, the food was a little disappointing. I had the lunch special sesame chicken. I ordered it with the vegetable friend rice and hot/sour soup. The soup was wonderful. The chicken ok but the rice was flavorless. I think pork friend rice should be served instead as it would add flavor. Also, don’t call it vegetable fried rice when I could only find several peas. In addition, we ordered the shrimp and lobster sauce. I had such high expectations that it would taste like WoHop in Chinatown. Not even close. Threw half of it out. In summary, I will just stick with my local take out place which is just as good.

Reasonable price and big portion of food. Authentic Chinese Sichuan food, 夫妻肺片 is the best! You can never go wrong with any dish. I always go here after car maintenance or a hiking nearby. I wish the owner opens another restaurant in Jersey City.

Food is excellent. Everything tasted so good. There were other Chinese people eating there, that’s how you know it’s good.

One negative is the staff is hit or miss. Our waitress had the personality of a pencil and really didn’t seem like she wanted to be serving us. She did the job tho so there’s that.
