The interior of this restaurant is quite nice and gives off a fine-dining vibe, even though it’s not actually a fine-dining place. The ambiance was probably the best part of our visit.
Coming to the food—it was just okay. Nothing bad, but nothing memorable either.
The main reason I wouldn’t recommend this place is the service. The staff didn’t seem to know what they were serving. When we asked what was inside a California roll, our server didn’t know and didn’t even offer to check with the chef. Later, when we asked if we could get the dressing on the side, she finally checked with the chef to see if it was possible.
My husband ordered an entrée with white rice, but it came with fried rice instead. We didn’t make a big deal about it and just ate it, but it added to the overall disappointment with the service.
What really left a bad impression was at the end. We tipped a little over $8, which was less than a dollar short of 15%, and the server asked us why the tip was low and what happened. We didn’t want to argue or create a scene, so we added another dollar to make it 15%. Still, that interaction felt uncomfortable and unprofessional.
Overall, while the place looks nice and the food is average, the service made it a disappointing experience, and we wouldn’t return.

Chen Yang Li is one of my go-to spots, especially for sushi—it’s easily the best quality for the price in the greater Nashua area. The bar can get lively on weekends, with regulars often carrying conversations across the space. As an extrovert, I enjoy the energy, but those seeking a quieter experience may prefer a table or a midweek visit. Service in the dining area is consistently excellent, while bar service can vary—though Erica is always fantastic: attentive, friendly, and a pleasure to chat with.

Food was pretty good and came out in a reasonable time period. They had vegetarian options for my friend which was awesome. Prices were reasonable and portion size was good.

We were from out of town and do not have a good Chinese restaurant there are only 2 in our town North Conway. We were pleased to find Chen yang li! The food was amazing! Fresh, flavorful well presented. The waitress was extremely pleasant and the restaurant was very clean. When we left we had a small amount of leftovers which she gladly wrap up for us and also gave us white rice and vegetable fried rice to go with or leftovers! Excellent service and food, Highly recommend!!!

Service and atmosphere were great. The staff was so kind. However the food was okay. The presentation was nice but for the quality of the sushi and the rest of our food, we’d give it a 3. I couldnt eat much of the sushi and sashimi as i couldnt get over the defrosted taste and we expected a bit more out of the chicken dish. We were hoping this was more of an authentic Chinese spot but it’s like any other towns regular Chinese go to, with super strong drinks
We got the special 3 style chicken dish and the sushi sashimi combo. Entire meal including one drink and a beer came to $108. tad bit pricy for subpar food.

I have gone to Chen Yang Li many times, and every time the food and service has been fantastic! They have a wonderful variety of choices for many different preferences and dietary restrictions. This most recent visit, there was a small mix up in our order, and they quickly made up for it and then some by giving us what we ordered and throwing in a free order of crab Rangoon! Whether I am looking for a nice night out or some tasty takeout, Chen Yang Li is always on the top of my list.

I love this restaurant so genuinely much. I go here with my friends all the time for affordable and delicious food!! The service was very attentive resulting in a relaxing and home-y vibe. The food is always fresh and hot on the plate served to us. Each dish in the different courses caters to individual preferences so there’s lot of options for you to choose from! My friends and I really love the sushi there, we HAVE to get it EVERY TIME; it never misses. The sushi is my favorite of all time, if you haven’t figured it out by now, but I do love the other dishes!!

I went to the Bedford location and the food and service was great. So, I went to the Nashua location and it was a HUGE difference. The girl working the front desk was very busy scrolling on her phone that she didn’t seem to notice I was standing in front of her. When I finally got her attention (she stayed on her phone well we talked), I asked a simple question which was if something had sesame in it due to an allergy. Her first responds was she didn’t know. I asked her if she could find out because if it did, I would just order something else. She told me I should just order something else. I asked her if she could ask the kitchen. Her reply was “I guess so.” But didn’t move till I asked her if she could do that before I order. She made a big show that this request was putting her out. (I was the only person at the desk, so I wasn’t taking her away from anything other than her phone). She came back saying she doesn’t think it has sesame in it but couldn’t be sure. I played it safe and order something else. The food was terrible!!!! Everything was covered in lettuce. I understand its used as a garnish but there was so much lettuce in the wonton soups that they were green. The boneless spareribs were mostly fat and there was a creamy gel at the bottom of the container which was also covered in lettuce. The crab rangoons filling tasted sour. The chicken and broccoli was bland. The general taos had more pepper and mushrooms then it did chicken. This was a really bad meal and a waste of $70.

Great spot for Chinese food or drinks! They have a huge bar and plenty of tables/booths. It is more upscale than your traditional Chinese food with white table cloths and fancy glasses. Reasonable prices for food that was really fresh, homemade, came out quickly. We got the sweet tea and the sesame chicken with brocoli and fried rice. The plating was really pretty with a decorative cut up orange and looked delicious. They definitely put care into every dish and it was super flavorful. Great spot to meet up with friends, family or hang at the bar for a drink. They have a huge menu with something for everyone. We dined in for dinner but they also had great lunch specials too. Would definitely recommend!

Food was ok, very hit and miss depending on the dish. The service is awful, the woman doesn’t know anything about any of the dishes, especially about food allergies which is insane for any restaurant staff to not know, and worst of all she had the nerve to pick up the check before we left and complain about the tip we gave her because it was a dollar under 15% (I really wanted to leave less since she did a bad job). The entitlement and horribly trained staff ensured I will never return here.
