This tea room is owned by a wonderful couple! Their expertise on difference teas is only seconded by their amazing hospitality. The food was delicious (over the moon for the scones!) and the the tiered serve left you feeling as full if not more than a meal would. Love the decor and the perfect place for groups to gather. So happy we made the long trip out there, and this place is worth the experience. As an added bonus we also were given a quick class in napkin folding so the could decor our own table at home. My girls love it!!!

Today was my first time visiting and I can say it was a great experience. The highlight of my lunch was the hot tea I tried. They have a variety to chose from. I went for an herbal tea. Tank you Chelsea’s for your amazing establishment. I highly recommend their tea and what they got to offer. I had a seasonal salad for brunch. It was fulfilling.

We booked high tea in celebration of a birthday. Every detail was exceptional. My aunt and I love to seek out places for tea and Chelsea’s on Thornton’s served the best food. I highly recommend for anyone who enjoys tea and ambiance. You will need to make reservations for high tea at least two days in advance.

Love this place. Food and service never disappoint. I had the corn chowder. It’s so worth the calories. It’s very quiet and reserved but such a lovely place. It’s absolutely a must try place if you have never been.

The tea room is easy to find, parking is available (it’s early afternoon), it’s quaint, plenty of tables although social distancing is being observed so it limits the number of people at the tables, clean, and good size windows to look out. Two tiny muffins (one to two bites) were brought out for two adults. The spinach & portobello mushroom quiche was good but the piece was not that big. The garden salad portion was small and consisted of lettuce, shredded carrots, two cherry tomatoes, and dressing on the side. If there was cheese on the salad I didn’t notice it. The highlight of my visit was the strawberry cake I ordered. It was delicious. Other than that my visit wasn’t memorable except that I enjoyed my time with my friend. I might go back and try other food but I’ll eat something before I go since it appears that the portions are small.

I’ve been to Chelsea’s many times and the food and service has always been top notch. I love the setting, Ralph gave us a history of the house which was fascinating and included a little ghost story (it was a Confederate hospital for a short time). There are over 30 different kinds of teas to choose from. You will not be disappointed! The food is what could be described as a light Luncheon. It is comprised of soups, sandwiches, and salads. The desserts are also very flavorful and delicious. So far we have had their strawberry cake, key lime cake and cherry cobbler with ice cream. The dining rooms are not too crowded and are warm and inviting. We have also been served on the porch during nice weather. While there we enjoyed hearing the noon time bells from the Church across the street. Another Chelsea’s experience is the Traditional Teas held on holidays. We went to the Christmas Tea and had an entire 3 tiered tray full of tea time confections and savories. We ate every morsel and every bite was a delight. You need a reservation for the holiday traditional teas and it may help to call ahead and make a reservation on weekdays at lunch time to insure a table upon your arrival.

I went with my Mother-in-law, my niece and my two sisters-in-law for high tea. We also had two infants with us. They were visiting from out of town and we wanted to try it for the experience. Before visiting Chelsea’s, I wasn’t much of a tea drinker. What I learned is a good quality tea makes a world of difference! I’ve been craving their blood orange tea ever since our visit. The food looked dainty, but at the end of the meal I was satisfied. I wouldn’t go in expecting a heavy over filling meal, but there was plenty of food to satisfy each of us. Everything was delicious and carefully prepared. The owners were accommodating and friendly. The price is similar to a lunch out. It’s a flat rate for each person and included tax&gratuity. I would absolutely recommend trying it. I look forward to going back!
