All the way back in 1955, the four sons of an immigrant millworker decided to take a chance. They opened a restaurant on Cumberland’s bustling Mendon Road with nothing to their names other than a shared dream and vision – fresh and local ingredients, prompt and friendly service, all to be had at an unbeatable value. While times change, our values don’t. As a third generation, family owned and operated company, our food is still made fresh in our commissary 7 days a week and delivered to each of our locations daily . Same ingredients, same recipes, same classic food that Rhode Islanders have come to know and love since our grandfathers first opened our doors nearly 70 years ago!

The food was mid. Compared to other Chelos that I’ve gone to the food here wasn’t that great. I had wings and calamari. The calamari seemed undercooked and plain. The atmosphere wasn’t bad and the staff was very nice but of course the quality of the food is important.

Myself and companion dined at this restaurant for lunch on Monday the MLK holiday, the food was excellent, the atmosphere was great, and the service was great up until I received my bill.
I ordered the Blackened Shrimp and Lobster with Linguini, it was on the Specials of The Day Board.
When I received my bill, there was a separate charge of $15.99 for the Lobster, and the rest of the meal which consisted of the Shrimp and Pasta was billed as $16.99.
My complaint is, that the bartender who took my order never informed me that there was a separate charge for the Lobster, and it makes me question whether or not I was deceived because I’ve never had this happened before.
I intend to call and speak with a manager to get some clarification on this matter, and suggest that for future references the staff inform patrons about extra charges, or the split of the charge for a meal that is actually one meal.

Wow, Keri was the greatest. She found a table and view that was pleasing to us. She took our and provided both meals and drinks without error.

2 of 3 dishes ordered were bad. 1 made my son sick for 3 days. Stay away from the Lobster Mac – foul, likely microwaved – smelly. The best dish was the chicken breast and rice pilaf, which was mine. It was not terrible, but it was subpar for sure. The chicken was also likely microwaved. If it wasn’t, it might as well have been. The other dish was Buffalo chicken Mac, which also made my other son feel kind of nauseous.

We will not be going back. No second chance. Poor quality and very overpriced for what it is. $112 to be made sick? No. That’s a hard pass. We had high hopes for this place, but were disappointed to put it mildly.

Called for pickup. I was told 15 minutes. Left my house immediately which is a 6 minute ride. My order was already on the counter. Ordered scrod with mashed potatoes and broccoli. Broccoli and mashed potatoes were hot but unfortunately the fish was cold. Disappointed .

Their fall menu is here! We ordered from that and we were very satisfied. The brisket burger was piled with thin crispy onions and bacon. My daughter decided to add some of her mash potatoes with gravy on it. She loved it. The gravy was delicious! I dipped my sweet potato fries in it! My daughter wondered what their recipe was. I got the Thanksgiving sandwich. Scrumptious. Could use a little bit more of the cranberry mayo. Friendly service.
