This is one of the best Mexican restaurants I have ever been to. The ambience, the service, and the food are excellent! I had to speak to the chef as I left, to tell her what a great job she had done.
I lamented the fact that there were not very many people at this restaurant. I don’t understand that, because this place should be full all day long. If you are passing through the city of Giddings, Texas, you should absolutely stop here for some of the best Mexican food you will ever eat!

So Good! Everything Homemade and Delicious
We ordered the Family Fajitas and loved every bite. The homemade tortillas were incredible — soft, fresh, and full of flavor. All the meats were juicy and perfectly grilled, and every side felt like it was made with love. Real, honest Mexican food. We’ll definitely be back!

Stopped in here on our way through town. The staff was super nice, the food was delicious, and we enjoyed the salsa. My only complaint would be that my rice was a bit overdone. I assume that is because we were there just before closing. Otherwise, we were very pleased with everything.
I would like to praise the staff for how clean and well-maintained the bathroom was. You could see the kitchen area pretty clearly when coming in and it appeared to be well kept also. You could definitely tell they took pride in the cleanliness of their restaurant!

Met family for lunch today. The three of us went for the lunch special which the waitress called it the Tex Mex. 2 Meat filled enchiladas regular rice and beans dish with a side of guacamole salad. The enchiladas had no flavor, we couldn’t eat this meal. The rice was bland as were the beans. Very little food on these plates, I know I got less than half a teaspoon of the guacamole. We all agreed that this was the worst Mexican food we have ever had. Chips were tough and hard. For 3 adults we received 1 half cup of salsa. To add insult to injury the bill was $73.00 before the tip. I don’t recommend this place and would never go back. I feel badly for my brother who picked up the check. I don’t like to leave reviews for anybody whether good or bad, but I felt that I needed to let everyone know. It may have been good some time ago but not now.

Don’t miss this Amazing family-run eatery with the most gracious hospitality & delicious menu in an bright decor. Mama’s home-made flour tortillas are best in class! When I asked about the carnitas, Stephanie’s eyes lit up. I knew I made the right choice even before eating them. ☺️The meat melted in my mouth. The charro beans have a balanced flavor. The mango-guava agua fresca tastes like ripe fruit off the tree. To top it all off, this is hands-down the cleanest restaurant in my life.

This past Monday I took my Mom and her best friend to Chelis Mexican restaurant, which has only been open for about 9 months, and very little people must know about it..As far as the review, where do I start. When we first walked in, the other guest that were eating looked up, and said “The food is amazing” lol.. The restaurant is not huge but decorated to perfection, the colors, the lovely dining tables and chairs painted mexican style, the art work, the food…. so authentic. That was just what we were looking for.
The food is another paragraph… authentic and amazing, fresh, and cooked with love. The restaurant is family owned and we were treated like familia! I ordered enchiladas, which were flawless. My mom order chicken fajitas, perfection!!! Tortillas were homemade and hot!!! The food was so amazing I had to meet the owner, which was in the back cooking these masterpieces. She was so warming, welcoming, loving, and polite. I was traveling to visit my mother in Giddings from Houston, let me end this review with… I will be stopping there everything time I visit mom!!! Loved it…A must visit restaurant. Thank you for the amazing food.. if your in Giddings, Tx stop by, you won’t be disappointed❤❤❤
