The food is always good. Been eating here for years and will continue to do so. It’s our favorite restaurant. Wait staff is excellent and recommend Neville. He is fantastic. The food is always consistently good. The deconstructed lasagna is served with filet medallions. Reservations highly recommended.

One of the best meals I have ever had in my lifetime. We started out with the Chef’s Table Signature Goat Cheese Risotto Balls & Shrimp Truffle Tempura. Our main meal was the Braised Beef Short Ribs Pasta, so good and the Chef’s Table Classic “Deconstructed Lasagna”, it was amazing. We were so full we did not get dessert and even took a small to go container back to our hotel. We were also seated at the Chef’s Table, so the smells of all the food cooking was magnificent. Impeccable service, waiter on point & friendly. You could tell the locals frequent there often as they left all telling Chef Josh goodbye as they left and said we will see you next week. It is a small restaurant and reservations are recommended. We live in Dallas and were in the area visiting the Smokey mountains. I had read about the restaurant a couple months prior to going and was so happy I stumbled upon it. Highly recommended! I hope to revisit again someday.

We had a great meal and we’re excited that we were able to get a table on short notice. Loved watching through the window as the chef made the different entrées. We now have a new “date night” place when in Waynesville.

We went here for our anniversary and the food was amazing. I had the scallops with the crab cupcakes and my husband had the deconstructed lasagna. We also had the Brie salad for an appetizer. Everything was delicious- my husband raved about the filet
and the scallops were melt in your mouth. My husband says his meal was the best he’s had in a very long time and he travels a lot and tries a lot of new restaurants.
We would definitely go there again! Our only complaint was that it smelled a little weird inside (maybe a sewage type of smell?) clearly the food made up for that, and maybe it was because it rained a lot the day before, not sure!

I wanted to like this place and heard so much about it. It was our first time there and the food was great, plating was beautiful. My main concern was the server, Nevil. I ordered a $138 bottle of wine and the wrong one was brought to the table, no problem, misunderstandings happen and maybe he didn’t hear me, he brought back the menu and had me point to the wine, I did. When he returned he introduced the bottle and said, “This is the pinot nior, not the Côte de Rhône like you ordered.” I had ordered the pinot noir correctly, and it wasn’t heard. However, I did not want to dampen the good night for my guest’s and talk about it at the table. I told them about his comment later and they regretted tipping so much only to have someone in their party corrected during dinner. This is poor wine etiquette, and hospitality altogether to correct a guest, whether or not it’s in ear shot of other guests. I will say he was very attentive with other table maintenance. However, I’m definitely not a fan of spending that kind of money only to be embarrassed by our server. I did not call him out for mishearing me, so why was this comment necessary to make?

Amazing food that covers other sins.
First, I want to say that everyone leaves laughing and happy. It is one of the first things that I noticed when I arrived. We sat near the door, and it was a joy to watch.
It’s a small place and tables are a bit too close. The back room is an unreasonable cluster where people are right on top of each other. It seemed stuffy when we arrived and that turned into a glistening sweat as we ate. .
The server was delightful. She knew the menu and described things well. We really enjoyed her.
We ordered cocktails. Her wine was delicious. My old fashioned was perfect.
The starter salad was great for my wife. Even my little plate of greens and berries were unexpectedly good.
The wait for our meal was unpleasant. We were hot and sweaty. The restaurant was annoyingly loud. We mentioned the heat to the waitress who was sweet and agreed but could not solve the problem.
I had scallops with veggies which were amazing. I loved every bite. The scallops had that perfect crispy outside and tender flavorful center. My wife had the beef rib over pasta. She raved about her meal. I snuck a bite and it was flavorful and tender. She carried on about how delicious the pasta was and how incredible the mushrooms were.
The meal was truly exceptional.
There was a fly that would not leave our table. At the end of our meal, it found a mate and made love on the window sill as we waited for the check. Even they left happy.

A very nice, quaint, slightly tight seating restaurant with quality food. It’s our second visit at Chefs, the reputation and quality speaks for itself. A tiny restaurant made to seat as many guests possible. Reservations are HIGHLY recommended, especially at a dining hour. The restaurant has two sitting areas, the small in front which you see through the window and when you walk in. Then there’s a walk down a narrow passage, passing by the kitchen and pickup area, leading you to rear section. There is a table for two, (Very small) right in that alley as I call it, by the kitchen and pickup area. Avoid that if you can.
We had reservations, were there a few minutes early with the restaurant being 3 quarters empty. The hostess decided to place my wife an I at this passage table, by the kitchen. Of course we asked for different seating, which took several minutes of discussion with I assume the manager? I understand many want particular seats, and their are reservations, however we had reservations,
were there on time, we are no different. The experience was not a nice welcome, hostess exuding a frustrated vibe. We subsequently got the window table. The selections of meals in terms of quantity are normal, and you won’t spend hours looking over pages of meals. The meals offered, however, are prepared in a manner making you feel you as if you are in Beverly Hills. I ordered the Cesar salad for pre meal and the Duck entree.
The Cesear salad was fresh and crisp, a perfect amount of dressing. My only complaint was the serving of anchovies which I ordered on the side, I got two slices?
The duck was amazing however surprisingly a little over cooked on the exterior, dry and crunchy. This was a minor issue, once past the skin, the duck was amazing however for the price and expectation I’m addressing all issues. Service was nice, formal, not overly warm, but very professional none the less.
Wine list is very nice from $ to $$$$$.
In the end, we would possibly return again,
it is a restaurant geard for special occasions or a very nice night out.
Stay away from the table in the passage way, I don’t understand why they would place a table in that location for guests out on a dining experience.

The food definitely lived up to all the hype, maybe the best braised short ribs I have ever had… The fresh pasta with the smoked blue cheese was totally amazing.
The service was great
I would definitely make a reservation if you want to go!
Highly recommend

We dined at the Chef’s Table on a Saturday night in November. High end restaurant in Waynesville but when the old fashioned I ordered came with muddled maraschino cherries – yikes. In a high end restaurant, that has a huge bourbon offering, you have to know how to make an old fashioned. Entrees were great (the duck and short rib) but only two options for dessert, cheesecake and chocolate cake. The chocolate cake was terrible. Just disappointing- seems like the chef preparing the entrees is good but beyond that they need some polish to make it a true high end experience.

My husband and I chose here for our wedding dinner, as it came highly recommended. And boy, did it not disappoint. I’ll be honest, when first looking at the menu, I saw the Deconstructed Lasagna and immediately thought it was incredibly pretentious. Let me tell you, it was delightful, we enjoyed it at the restaurant and again as left overs. The Braised Short Rib was also phenomenal, mind you I do not like blue cheese, but it being smoked was out of this world. Our server, Neville, was the best server we have ever had, he was attentive, kind and knowledgeable. When in, or around Waynesville, The Chef’s Table is a must.
