Wow! Some of the best dim sum we’ve had. Better than most dim sum places and higher quality. Not only was every dish beautiful in appearance but the taste was truly outstanding! Every item was amazing!

The truffle and shrimp siu mai was delicious and juicy with crisp shrimp. The squid ink shrimp dumpling were rich and juicy too! The red rice roll with donut and shrimp was so tasty! Steam buns were fluffy. Can go on and on about each dish. And the service was great because they quickly offered to replace or remove one dish that had a minor problem.

Would totally return and highly recommend this dim sum place.

Amazing value-for-money snow crab set meal – seriously delicious!
Helen provided fantastic service: super attentive and perfectly timed with every dish. The crab was cooked to perfection, and the typhoon shelter style was spot-on – that thin, crispy coating was incredible. The fried rice was an absolute standout: every grain separate and fluffy, no clumps at all. Highly recommend this place!

Food was good! Had Lobster sticky rice, turnip pastry, sponge cake, assorted vegetables, clams. The ginger fried dessert cake is really good and different, haven’t seen anywhere else.
Had kingcrab in the past, which was really good too! Came back for dimsum. Will come back again for either dimsim or dinner!

A very positive first visit here and in the top tier of dim sum restaurants that I’ve tried! The black salted egg yolk lava buns and the shrimp rice rolls were my highlights. I was a bit apprehensive about the service based on past reviews here, but the three of us got in without a reservation after a short wait on a Wednesday, and the service afterwards was just fine.

The server made suggestions on the menu which worked perfectly for us! Enjoyed the delicious meal.
Only thing is if they can work on plating would make it 200/100

Very busy restaurant. Arrived and got seated despite not having reservation. Service was spotty. Not sure how they were Michelin rated. Ordered a couple of dim sums. They were all good. Truffle should not be used for some of the dishes. For example, truffle on top of shou mai just does not taste good. I don’t know why they make it that way. However, truffle with chicken was delicious. Lobster with glutinous rice was good as were the brisket and frog with salt and pepper. Overall, food was very good but the service and ambiance needs some work.

Been to Chef Tony’s a few times before, and most recently invited friends who were visiting from out of town last week.
They are experienced travelers and have tasted many similar Cantonese cuisine all over the world, and they commended this place as “every dish was delicious” and “very high quality in both presentation and taste”.
Not to mention the service is above average for Chinese restaurants, so, will visit again for sure!

We were disappointed with the food and service there. The place was recommended by a friend and we wanted to try their crabs. The 2.5 lb crab dish was not that flavorful. The beef rice noodle was dry. We liked the cucumber appetizer. The service was average. It seems the server had no patience with us. Overall the food and service do not justify the higher price there. Would go elsewhere next time.

Absolutely the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. The service was a complete disaster no one bothered to check on our table, and we sat there for nearly 40 minutes just waiting to order while people who came after us were served first. They messed up our order not once but twice, bringing the wrong dishes both times. And when the bill came, they somehow managed to charge us for two dishes that never even showed up and then charged us incorrectly twice. The whole experience was so bad it still annoys me to this day. This place shouldn’t even be in business. Do yourself a favor and stay far, far away from this restaurant.

After several visits, I finally realized why the restaurant’s dim sum is consistently underwhelming. Much of the menu appears to rely on prefabricated dishes (預製菜), disguised under a layer of cheap truffle oil to give an illusion of luxury.

This approach not only compromises flavor and freshness, but also shows a lack of respect for diners and for Richmond’s rich culinary community. Authentic dim sum should reflect craftsmanship and pride — not convenience and shortcuts.

I sincerely hope the restaurant reevaluates its practices and starts serving freshly prepared, genuine dim sum that honors the traditions and expectations of its customers.

P.S the server Kelly was super nice and helpful
