Incredible African fusion cuisine! To describe it in just two words; FRESH & BOLD
My wife and I were visiting Durango and stopped by Ska Brewery for some beers and were pleasantly surprised to stumble upon Chef Safaris African Fusion on the same property.
We tried the Chicken Kebab plate and the Beef samosas for dinner one night. IT WAS INCREDIBLE. So we decided to go back the next day for lunch and got the Tikka Curry chicken, African humus, and Falafels. AGAIN INCREDIBLE. As I’m writing this review right now my wife and I are sitting in the hotel debating going back there for dinner (even though we just ate lunch there two hours ago), he is just that good! I think I could order anything on the menu and love it

So happy I decided to drop by here for lunch while on a business trip. Great spot sharing space with Ska Brewing, so good music and fresh air abound, and of course, the food was delicious. I had the spiced lamb curry. Curry was flavorful with a good kick, but balanced well with the simple cashew couscous and greens on the side. Meat was tender and had a perfect portion size. The chapati bread was also great. Felt worth the price point to support local, good cookin!
This will definitely be on my list of stops when I’m next in town. Thank you, Chef Safari, for a delicious meal!

The niece is attending Ft Lewis, so coming to Durango is becoming a regular thing. Do yourself a favor and dine here. You will not be disappointed. It is by far, some of the best food in town. Chef Safari puts the love and attention into each and every dish. We got the chicken tikka curry, veggie samosas, and the homemade tumeric chai. Flavors were solid and on point, we will be coming back.

Very good food, I’m so happy that I found this place on the map before my roadtrip. I ordered the Oxtail Curry, it was my first time eating anything like this and it was great. I would definitely recommend this place if you are in the area.

Absolutely delicious food, no notes! We got the lamb curry, chicken lollipops and samosas. I’ve never had samosas with such good flavor and texture in my life- they were standout! Light and crispy on the outside, with amazing flavorful sauces! The chef is incredibly nice and we had a great time chatting with him. This ended up being my husband’s birthday dinner and it did not disappoint!!

Chef Safari’s food is TOP NOTCH! If you haven’t tried his offerings, you are missing out on a gastronomic adventure of epic proportions! In fact, chef leaves no sense wanting—-from aromas to textures to taste, every plate is a masterpiece. Every time I come, I try something different and I am always amazed. Today, it was beef samosas and Ethiopian beef curry. Oh my! There are no words. The sauces alone are so delicious, I would be happy just to eat them. The sides are perfectly paired with the main dishes—-the flavors absolutely delight the taste buds. Please come and support the Chef!

Lots of delicious and clearly marked vegan options! The chef/owner also told me he’s going to be expanding his vegan options even more. I got the Ethiopian Spiced Vegetable Curry as well as some tofu skewers over dirty rice and highly recommend both things. I’ll definitely be visiting again while I’m in town.

Excellent African food made and served by awesome people. This is the only place you can get food like this in Durango (or anywhere within the vicinity), and their food is delicious. Lots of vegan and vegetarian options. Ordered the African Dry Rub Malasia Fries, the Coconut Curry w Tofu served with coconut rice, and the Vegetable platter (came with lentils, collard greens, injera bread, beans). Everything was super tasty, our favorites were the coconut curry dish and the collard greens. Highly recommended and will be back
