Great atmosphere and staff! Service was very friendly and they kept checking to see if we were ok and if we needed anything!!! The food was cooked to order and absolutely delicious. It’s great to have a good soul food place near by! The owner himself was walking around and speaking with the customers it was great to see. Again great place to enjoy family we took our mother out for her birthday they were very kind!!! Superb and authentic soul food!!! The flavor was powerful and tasted like grandma’s home cooking!!!!

Chef Quis has a bright future at this new location. I am a repeat customer. The food is always amazing. You will leave full and still need a to-go plate. The atmosphere is pleasant and relaxed. The staff is courteous and attentive. Always a great experience!

11 minutes. That’s how long it took for me to clean that plate, and that alone should tell you something. This is hands down some of the best soul food I’ve had in the area and anywhere around the Austin metro so far. If you haven’t heard of Chef Quis, you’re truly missing out.

Right now they’re serving out of Sound Stage Event Center, with a new official location coming soon, and it’s already clear this is about to be a regular stop for a lot of people. The gumbo was rich, flavorful, and cooked just right, the fried fish had that perfect crunch, and the mac and cheese paired with the yams was a combination I couldn’t put down. I didn’t even make it home before finishing it that’s how good it was.

You can taste the care and consistency in every bite. This is the kind of food you come back for, and it’s absolutely worth what you pay

Chef Quis Cajun & Soul Food was a whole experience in the best way. From the moment we sat down, the servers were warm, friendly, and kept coming back to make sure we were well taken care of. That kind of hospitality sets the tone right away and makes you feel welcome.

The decor added to the experience too — classy, neat, and very clean. You can tell they take pride in their space. I also really appreciated that the take-out area is set up out of sight, so those of us dining in weren’t overrun with noise or traffic. It made for a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere.

Now the food? Packed with flavor and clearly made with love. We ordered the chicken wings, smothered pork chops, and beef tips… all of it was very good. The sides were just as strong, but the real star for me was the cornbread stuffing. That stuffing will make you happy in a hurry… true comfort food.

It did take a little time for the meal to come out, but when it arrived, hot and fresh, we forgot all about the wait. Good food is worth it when it’s done right.

Comfort food at its finest, great service, and a welcoming environment. My wife Tramita and I truly enjoyed it and will definitely be back. If you’re looking for flavorful Cajun and soul food that feels homemade and heartfelt, this is a spot to try.

The food was really Amazing and so fresh and homemade! The chicken wings were hot and well seasoned, the, green beans were flavorful and belong at every family reunion, the cornbread dressing is so good that I wished I had ordered some for Thanksgiving, the yams were some of the best that I’ve ever had, and I returned to get the sold out mac and cheese, and absolutely tasted why it was sold out! SOME OF THE BEST FOOD I’VE EVER EATEN!
They are inside of an event center and will be moving to their new location in January!! Yayyyyy for Yummyness and great portions!

This was our third visit to Chef Quis’. I want this place to succeed, so I’ll likely try them again and adjust my review accordingly.

Our first dine-in experience was slow but delicious. However, this last time, our takeout took 1 hour and 10 minutes after given a 35-minute estimate. The order was incorrect (cabbage instead of yams) and the catfish was significantly spicier than previous visits.

I want to keep supporting them, but the wait times and accuracy definitely need to improve.

This is an amazing place to go for food that feeds your soul. Be aware you will start hearing hand claps and your ancestors will appear. I don’t care where you are from. This is some amazing food. Please go, just for prospective; I didn’t like it the first time I went years ago.

I first came across Chef Quis last year because Mad Wingz was unexpectedly closed during lunch due to plumbing issues. A friend and I drove around the corner to Chef Quis. A crew of construction workers were at the high top tables eating and praising the food. The young lady who took our order was from Savannah and Chef Quis told us he was from Lafayette…..that’s all I needed to hear. Since then I have been back a few times. The food is definitely seasoned but not overpowering, but some might say it’s too salty. Matter of personal taste. I have had a few different dishes and he has changed the menu since my first time eating here but everything was good. Personal wish is that they bring back the shrimp and grits. Show your support and keep him going!!

Restaurant is ducked off in the cut but man oh man is it worth finding. I ordered the fish plate with candied yams, and Mac & cheese. Seasoned! Tender! flaky! Creamy! This was by far the best soul food I’ve had in the area. Plate was around $20 after taxes. Worth every penny. Could easily feed 2 people. Thank you chef food was delicious, I’ll definitely be back.

P.S. (photo) Excuse the bite off the fish. Wasn’t planning on writing a review until my taste buds were awakened.

I ordered the fried chicken wings, mac & cheese, and yams. I arrived about an hour before closing and they had run out of mac & cheese, but I was able to substitute green beans, and they kindly comped me a banana pudding for the inconvenience.

The food came out in about 15 minutes and was piping hot. The wings had a great crunchy batter and were well seasoned. I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about the green beans, but they were actually really good. The yams weren’t as sweet as I’m used to, but they still tasted great.

Now, that banana pudding…I don’t even like bananas, let alone banana pudding, but let me tell you…it was GOOD. I’ll definitely be back to try more items on the menu, and I will absolutely be ordering the banana pudding again.

One thing to note: you will likely leave smelling like cooked food. I ran into the same issue when I used to go to the restaurant that this place replaced, so it seems to be an ongoing ventilation issue with the building, not a reflection of the food or service here.
