Showed up here 3:15 p.m. on a Wednesday. Rough looking part of town. Plenty of on street parking. No problem getting a table. Staff was really friendly and helpful. Some of the best fried chicken I’d ever hard; expertly cooked with a nice crunch. Grits are a side, and they’ll ask you if you want savory or sweet. Savory is the famous cheesy grits. I don’t have a lot of experience with grits, but these were delicious, especially with the spicy honey. Ordered mac n cheese, braised cabbage, greens and peach cobbler. Everything was very tasty. We met Chef Paul; sweet guy. Great stop right off of 99.

Had lunch with a couple of co-workers. Stood at the door till it opened. Walked in, took in the room, and breathed in the smell of fresh fried chicken with a hint of spice. The chef greeted us at our table and welcomed us to the restaurant. The server was attentive, and the food was amazing, even during a packed house. We walked in first, and crowds walked in behind us. I can see why. Keep up the great work, guys!!!

Went here on a Saturday afternoon. Place was pretty packed with people also picking up orders to-go. Parking wasn’t too hard to find.

Food, service, atmosphere… All there. I ate there unfortunately for the first time in the 15 years they have been open. Can’t believe I’ve not been there sooner. I used to travel from LA to the Bay for work and didn’t know we had this local gem here right at our door step. I only tried a few things, but so far… The chef is hand crafting the best shrimp po boy I have ever tasted anywhere. Nothing out there even comes close. I left with a huge smile on my face and can’t remember last time a meal made me happy. Not exaggerating… Fresno has a few more hidden gems but this one is definitely my new spot.
