10/10 highly recommend. Everything about the food is spectacular. Portions are a good size for 2 people to eat from. I highly recommend that you call for reservation as they are always packed with people. Lately my husband and I have call in for take out instead.

I have wanted to try this restaurant out for awhile and I am sure glad I got the opportunity to do so. It is a small place which is why the line was basically out the door to be seated, so be prepared to wait a little when you arrive. I wanted to order mostly everything off the menu. Which is why I will be going back soon. The shrimp shumai, chicken soup dumplings, and the braised beef noodle soup were too delicious. Make sure you visit here if you have your Chinese food cravings because I’m sure you will not be disappointed.

It’s a small restaurant. We didn’t have a reservation so we were put on the wait list for about 20 minutes. The service was great and the robot server is cute. Our server was nice and patient as it was our first time. We ordered several items and they were all good but they are a little stingy with the food for the price. My husband was highly disappointed in the portion size of duck for $22 as well as the crab rangoon. Pics below. For the price you won’t get full. We will probably not eat here again due to the skimpy portion sizes. They literally only give you 3 pieces of Rangoon and a very small amount of duck for $22.

Charleston hidden gem!

I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly this place filled up — clearly a local favorite, and now I understand why! The dim sum here is fresh, flavorful, and truly authentic. The soup dumplings were absolutely amazing — rich broth, perfect texture, and full of flavor in every bite. Service was friendly and fast even though the restaurant was busy.

Great atmosphere, great food, and a must-visit spot in Charleston if you love dim sum. I’ll definitely be back!

Great food, and quick service. Our waiter came right over as soon as we sat down. Our drinks came out soon after.
The main entree came out with in 5 minutes of ordering. Very quick and the food was hot and tastes wonderful.

We plan to go back and bring family to enjoy the great service food and staff. With the staff being courteous, quick. Will always have us to come back.

Where do I even begin… Me and my friends wanted to go here to grab a bite because of the good reviews and previous experiences. However, upon arriving, the entryway was narrow and tight, which made me uncomfortable. They told us to wait 20 minutes, we waited roughly 35-40 minutes. But that’s no problem. We order as we sat and the server is kind and accommodating. Me and my friends ordered the pork soup dumplings, peking roast duck, chili wonton dumplings, house wings, egg drop soup and chicken feet. The pork soup dumplings were mediocre. The flavor didn’t wow me. The house wings were extremely spicy to the point of not being able to enjoy them. What irked me the most was that the $22 peking duck came out to barely 8 pieces of SCRAWNY duck meat. I was speechless when the dish came out. The chili wontons had little to no meat and the dough ratio was quite disappointing… The chicken feet were good. Their prices are very high for some subpar food. Such a stingy place. Safe to say, do not go here if you’re craving dim sum.

I had a craving for Asian food and went to this place for the HK style shumai filled with pork and shrimp and they tasted so good!
I also had a braised beef noodle. The broth was good but the noodle too soggy soft for me.
My husband had the laziji chili chicken and it was so good. It has a pretty good heat to it if you into spicy food.
I might go back again next time to try different dishes.

I heard this place had some authentic Chinese food (not the regular fast-food-style Chinese food).

I brought my wife here for a dinner date, and we started off with the Crab Rangoon – Amazing! The dough was so crispy, and they had this wonderful sweet-chili sauce to dip it in.

Then we got the Mongolian Beef plate the Braised Beef Noodle Bowl, and a few of the dumplings.

Everything was great, but I have to say the Dumplings really blew me away. Never in my life have I had dumplings that were so flavorful – perfectly cooked, wonderful texture, and very filling.

Can’t wait to come back again!

Our server was also very friendly and helpful, and made us feel very welcome

Dinner last night at Chef Loong Dim Sum & Soup Dumplings and wow, this spot absolutely delivers.

If you’re looking for authentic dim sum, soup dumplings, and classic Chinese comfort food, this is the place. We went as three chef friends, so the bar was high, and every single dish impressed.

The pork soup dumplings were perfectly delicate and full of rich broth. The garlic eggplant was deeply flavorful and beautifully cooked. The scallion pancakes were crisp on the outside and tender inside, exactly what you hope for. We also loved the Mongolian beef, General Tso’s chicken, and the dan dan noodles, all packed with bold, balanced flavor. Even the cucumber salad stood out, fresh, bright, and the perfect contrast to the richer dishes.

The service was fantastic, friendly, attentive, and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better.

If you’re searching for the best dim sum and soup dumplings, or just really good Chinese food in a warm, comfortable setting, Chef Loong is absolutely worth a visit.

Great food! Soup dumplings are amazing and fresh. Made daily and they actually close a few hours each day to make more because they go so quickly and I appreciate that because you bring a fresh product to your customers.
Be patient for a table it’s crowded for a reason but service was spot on. Food came quickly and very well prepared.
I hope the owners and chef get to read this so I can say great job and don’t change a thing !!
