In town for work trip, and saw reviews for this place. Very much more than your typical Chinese American takeout place. Very happy to see some more traditional cantonese dishes. Really enjoyed braised pork belly mao style and the blanched choy sum. Want to go back next time I’m in town for sure.

If you’re craving real, authentic Chinese cuisine, look no further—this is the spot. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, and everything we tried was full of flavor and expertly prepared. Prices are very reasonable, making it a great value for the quality of food you get. The service was top-notch—friendly, attentive, and efficient. Our meals arrived quickly, and the staff made sure we were well taken care of throughout. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a delicious and satisfying dining experience.

Very nice interior, pleasant staff, and unique delicious food. Try the century eggs, just don’t ask how they’re made. Everything was great.

Steam Shrimp with Garlic is a dish where shrimp are cut in half and steamed with finely chopped garlic and seasoning. It is a bit salty, but it is a delicacy when eaten with the noodles cooked together.
Braised Beef Noodle seems to be served differently than it is in the picture on the menu. It is topped with a generous amount of beef attached to cartilage instead of finely chopped beef, and the noodles are thicker than in the picture. That is thick and rich because it is made by boiling beef bones.
Garlic Sauce Dish with Pork was by far the best dish I ordered. If you are familiar with Korean Tangsuyuk, you can say that it is close to the same taste. The sweet and well-balanced fried pork, vegetables, and garlic seasoning were good.
Wonton in Chill Oil is a dish where dumplings are served with a sour and tangy sauce. The soft texture of the meat and the lightness that you feel as you chew the dumplings were good.
Mapo Topu may be a bit spicy and burdensome for those who are used to Western food. If you want to challenge the unique spices and flavors, try it. The seasoning is spicy and stimulating, but the soft texture of the tofu is good.
The Roasted Duck is well-cooked without oil, minimizing the greasiness as much as possible. I put the roasted duck pieces on a round, thin bread and ate it with cucumber, green onion roots, and two sauces. You can eat the meat and vegetables as a wrap, but you can also eat the roasted meat with sauce according to your taste.
The interior of the restaurant is a typical Chinese interior, clean, and a little dark so that other people’s attention is not focused on it. It was a comfortable space to have a cozy meal.
The price is also reasonable

I learned about Chef Jiang from an Asian person. They said it was one of the few restaurants nearby that had traditional Chinese. So I grabbed a friend and went. We really enjoyed the adventure of trying new and unfamiliar foods. We shared some hot sake and then had crispy cucumber salad, Twice cooked pork Sichuan style. We really enjoyed both of them – the flavors, the freshness. The pork seemed like really thick cut bacon with vegetables. And the flavors were unexpected. Took another friend there a couple weeks later. We had a different pork dish also tasty, but fattier. I liked the first one better. And pork soup dumplings which were a surprise. Little buns with soup and pork in them. They were an adventure to eat and I enjoyed them. We also had a chive ‘pancake’. I had never seen those before. It was delicious – crispy and creamy at the same time, with a light chive flavor. It was a fun adventure and I would go back. They have something that’s spicier which I haven’t been brave enough to try yet. It looks like so much fun. Sort of a mix and match collection of ingredients that you can have in a hot pot with a special spicy sauce. And for you other brave souls out there they also had bullfrog legs on the menu and a variety of steamed or fried whole fish. Haven’t gotten brave enough to try those yet either. If you are someone who rates an ethnic restaurant on whether the people of that ethnicity frequent it, the clientele was 80% Asian. The staff was attentive, the food came out efficiently, and we enjoyed the new flavors. It was a great adventure and I will be back.

Beautiful decor and atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was no wait to be seated. Our server helped explain the menu items, including flavor profiles to me. Our good was cooked and served extremely quickly. It was plated in an esthetically pleasing manner and delicious. Serving sizes were generous with plenty to take home. I/we plan to return soon. I don’t know about my kids, but I will be trying more of the numerous traditional Chinese dishes in the menu as well.

Honestly one of the best Chinese restaurants I have tried in Connecticut. The employees I have encountered with have all been so kind and friendly. Found this place because I was looking for chicken dumplings. This place does not disappoint they are amazing. I tried the soup dumplings and they were good. But the fried chicken dumplings were amazing. They were so good I went back twice in one day just to get another order. Would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a good place to eat. The food taste so fresh, and the service is so quick. I’d make the drive to this place any day for their dumplings!

We absolutely love this place! The dishes here are so cravable. One of our favorites is the salt and white pepper chicken—it’s crispy and well seasoned. We haven’t tried a dish that we didn’t like. The service and ambience is wonderful too. Great for big groups and pairs alike.

My wife and I went here for a date night before a show at the Bushnell. It was a Friday night, but was not too busy when we arrived at 5:30 PM. All the food was good, but our favorite was the buns and the pad thai. Everything seemed fresh and the portions were a good size. We agreed that we’ll try to come back the next time we’re in the area!
