Unfortunately, my experience took a very negative turn on the way out. As a happy guest, I tipped the manager, Panna, $100 and specifically asked him to share it with his two helpers. Right after I handed him the cash and pointed out the team members, he hastily put the money in his pocket and acted to his co-workers as if he hadn’t received it from me. This made me uncomfortable and suspicious.
Later, I learned that he was asking other guests for tips again, implying he hadn’t received anything. When she mentioned the cash tip I had already given him, he quickly changed the topic. That behavior left a terrible impression and overshadowed an otherwise excellent evening.
I’m sharing this respectfully because Chef Dinesh’s food and hospitality were genuinely top-notch, and I want future guests to have a great experience from start to finish. This should be taken seriously because trust, transparency, and overall experience matter as much as the quality of the food. We also felt at times that the manager tried to override Chef Dinesh’s communication and discourage direct interaction with him.
Thank you, Chef Dinesh, for the fantastic food and for looking into this.
Even after giving feedback, they did nothing to fix the issue and still billed the full amount.
Overall, the biryani was bland, not fresh, and definitely not worth the price.
Would not recommend this place for biryani lovers.
Saturday evening the chicken tikka was stale (see picture) and it was very very hard. How do they expect a customer to eat this? Fish tikka was a rip off with less pieces. Most of the restaurants after Covid, the quantity has reduced and also the quality.
I called the restaurant and they asked me to raise complaint with Door Dash and get refund. But Door Dash is offering 5 dollar refund on a 60 dollar bill. This is nothing but a rip off from food apps and restaurants.
Good: service was fine, ambience was good too. It was not crowded, wait time for food was not much, restrooms were clean and plates were clean. Food was good too! Appetizers veg Manchurian, veg spring roll, mozzarella cheese sticks, they were great. All types of breads were ordered, they were really good too. Saag Choley was good!
Bad: Paneer makhani and Dal makhani was crazy sweet and didn’t like the dishes at all. If felt like they made it crazy spicy so added sugar to make it a medium spice dish but it had ruined the taste. Interestingly, they didn’t have ice cream which was disappointing for kids.
The food was good overall.
You can order half portions of the Manchow soup.
We ordered the Chicken Gharwala and Laada Bedi Tariwala Murg, both of which were delicious.
Water:
The normal water was not good; it had a salty taste.
Service:
The service was not up to the mark.
I liked the ambiance.
Great food, esp the lamb chops.
Biriyani was way too spicy, but I guess that’s how we indians want it.
Naan and goat curry was totally delicious.
Friendly service.
I highly recommend Dinesh Cafe.
