We ordered out once months ago, and were less than impressed. Went in for “Brunch”. They only have Coffee Mate, no half and half, so that made for a sad coffee experience. We ordered one pancake & a side of sausage, we were given the brunch order of 2 pancakes and sausage (about $10)…they were basic Bisquick flat tasting pancakes. I won’t even serve that in my home. We also ordered the homemade Cornbeef Hash. Not all the potatoes were cooked through, the corned beef were chunks of mediocre quality, but the eggs were okay. I had to ask 3 times for lemon for my water. Our waitress checked in often, so that was good. They make their mimosas with concentrate OJ, with this day and age of plenty of not from concentrate options out there, it would seem with the prices charged, they would serve quality stuff, though their mimosas were only $2, but for straight OJ, which was all I wanted, no price listed and I’d pay for decent juice. Second time was not a charm. Was hoping for better, as having a non chain place nearby that was good would be awesome. Third time is off our list. We watched on table sit with their food for a bit without silverware & I had to alert staff. It wasn’t exactly crowded at this point, y’all. Basically, it was an approximately a $30 breakfast bummer.

This place is amazing! Service was great yesterday, bloody mary was to die for and the fried chicken spaghetti was on point! Met the owner Blythe while she was bartending and she was surprisingly sweet despite what the reviews say here. I will definitely be back this weekend!

My wife and my first time there last night. The food was good. the service was great, the atmosphere was great. Good southern options. I had the jalapeno popper burger with a side of steamed carrots. The hamburger was good, but the steamed carrots had this gooey substance on them that i am not sure what it was. it didn’t have any flavor and frankly i had two and did not eat anymore. My wife had a great looking basic burger that she enjoyed and green beans which were good.

My wife and my feelings are, we liked it, but i just dont know if it is something that we would choose as our first option when we are looking for something close to our home. Almost great. Service is awesome though. Erinn was our server and he did an amazing job. Great price on margaritas for taco Tuesdays which actually will probably bring us back soon. We will try again soon though.

I was excited about trying this place, I enjoy a good southern meal every once and a while. Maybe, my expectations were too high. The restaurant decor and staff were great. The fried deviled eggs were good! I just was disappointed with the chicken fried steak and all of my sides. It was so bland! I wanted real southern green beans that tasted like my grandmothers cooked with salt pork, not crispy flavorless ones. The mashed potatoes tasted like instant ones . The chicken fried steak was too thick a cut and tasted like it had no seasoning. My kids fried fish had no seasoning, it was bland! We walked out feeling disappointed.

My wife and I tried this place for the first time a couple days ago for lunch. I have to say after seeing all of the good reviews they have I was rather disappointed. Their food is bland it has absolutely no flavor. My wife had the BBQ brisket sandwich with the slaw on it and I had the catfish basket. The only thing that I can say was good was the hush puppies that came with my basket. The only thing you could taste in the coleslaw was cabbage. The meat on my wife’s sandwich had no flavor and was dry as could be. When they brought me my basket I thought it was strange that the nuggets we’re so thin but then quickly realized that they substituted my cat fish with who knows what kind of fish, when I kept getting mouthfuls of rib bones. I told and showed the waitress and her response was oh sorry. Safe to say we won’t be going back.

My family of 4 went to Chef Blythes And was not impressed this time at all. I had the Grits and Shrimp, which was advertised as good as Louisiana’s.. It was not! It was plain grits with no taste. Others had steak and crab cakes that were terrible. Additionally, The drinks are way over priced! And when we asked about the price of the drinks the girl behind the bar was very rude and short. We will never go back! Definitely not worth the price we paid, very disappointed. I would not recommend this place at all.

Curious what Southern Bistro cooking was all about so tried restaurant out for the first time last night with my wife and another couple. We all ordered different items and were all pleased with our food. I had the daily special which was shrimp scampi spaghetti which was excellent. My wife had the sweet tea chicken while the other couple had rosemary chicken and pot roast. Price was very reasonable. I’m sure we’ll return again in the future.

We tried this for the first time on a busy Friday night. We sat at the bar and Sly, the bartender, took great care of us! The wait time for food wasn’t even crazy with the large crowd. Loved the Pecan beer on tap and Fried Deviled Egg appetizer!

I had the chicken fried chicken and it was AWESOME! Fresh, homemade fries and squash, just like my momma made. My fiancée had the Sweet Tea grilled chicken and she loved hers as well!

Only thing we did wrong was skip dessert. It looked and smelled so good! We will be back ASAP!

Great concept but fails to deliver. The menu changes regularly, and has a nice variety of options. But the environment leaves a lot to want. The decorations are beautiful, but is just unrefined and unfinished. The floor is always sticky, and rarely have I been given a table that didn’t feel icky, or wasn’t clean. The decorations fee vintage farmhouse chic but the tables and chairs contrast that with a high school cafeteria.

The last time my family diner here was the nail in the coffin, and we won’t be returning. We arrived at 5:30pm for dinner. The place was nearly empty and we were seated immediately. The floor was stick underneath the table, and there was funk on the table. There were only two other dining parties there. It took a good 5 minutes to order beverages, and then it took about 10 minutes for our waiter to bring our water and tea. It then took another 15 minutes for our waiter to return to order our dinner. In the mean time, 2-3 other groups of 4 showed up for dinner. There was only one waiter on staff, and he was rarely seen on the dining floor. While waiting for dinner, our tea ran out, and it took a good 10-15 minutes after recognizing that our drinks were empty, for the waiter to return with refills. Dinner took about 45 minutes to come out, even though there were only 7 other tables filled. By the time it came out, most of the food was lukewarm. Most other couples were visibly uncomfortable by the lack of service, and one group of four left after waiting 10 minutes without being waited on. Dinner was nothing special. Sweet tea chicken was dry and over cooked. Very tough to chew. Mashed potatoes and fried okra was only warm.

It took another 10 minutes to get the bill and pay. Keep in mind, the waiter wasn’t serving other tables either. I am pretty forgiving, but something was very wrong here. We have been here 5 times, and will not return. Service and food quality has dropped each time we have come. It’s a shame, considering it has a lot of potential.

I love the atmosphere. That is really the only LOVE I can say I have. My husband and I have been there 2 times. The first time my order came out it was overcooked and cold. The cook personally came out and apologized- which I appreciated. The second time it came out the sides were still cold. We had the sinful brownie for dessert, that was by far amazing.. The second time we went we had the same problem but did not complain.
We didn’t find the hospitality to be anything special.
Last night we called in for 2 sinful brownies to go picked them up and when we got home they were not fried completely and was missing the special sauce. I called asking for the manager and she said she was. I explained what we had last night and she didn’t so any concern just said well next time you come in I’ll replace it.
Customer service/Hospitality is something you should take pride in!
