We’ve been excited to try this restaurant for over a year and visited the Landfall location last night, Sun Nov 16th. My daughter & I are grilled cheese addicts but sadly, the experience was underwhelming. The woman at the counter wasn’t overtly rude, but she sure was not pleasant or friendly. I expected a decent wait but never mind waiting on good food, so no issues with that. To not offer ice w/complimentary filtered water that is warm, in such a highly regarded establishment, just seems contradictory & negatively influenced the overall experience. Even the canned soda my daughter purchased, gets warm after a bit, so in my mind, not offering ice seems in conflict with our $60.00 tab.

Maybe just an off day but I didn’t enjoy my maple bacon. The flavor profile & ingredient proportions just seemed off. The tomato soup was, in my opinion, awful. It is smoky red pepper tomato so I expected notes of smoke, but this tasted like reheated canned soup with half bottle of liquid smoke added. Asian fries were no better, and arrived cold. Mac Daddy was okay but bland, but cheesecake was excellent. Very clean also, but wouldn’t return to this location. Maybe cargo district is better.

This is a fun, clean, lots of tables creative grilled cheese brick and mortar outpost from the original food truck idea restaurant. They have some creative sandwiches and they come out hot and the bread is crispy- just like it’s supposed to be. This is comfort food at its best. The wait is a minute, but they make everything to order, so you can’t really complain. The people there were very nice and super helpful.

The whole family loves CheeseSmith. The Classic Grilled Cheese with American or Vegan cheese is delicious. The fries are tasty and crisp. The staff has always been helpful & friendly

If you come here you have to get the hoss Italian sandwich. One of the best I’ve had. Their house sauce is also very good. Quick service aswell!

Great local food shop. Incredible assortment of gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches. The maple bacon grilled cheese absolutely delicious. Parmesan fries and the beer-cheese fries were just as good. Prices are a bit high ($40 for two people) and the service was slower than expected, but we were not in a hurry. Definitely enjoyed our meal.

The only reason I gave this place three stars because the girl behind the counter was very friendly. It’s a very clean and nice atmosphere.
This was my first time here and it will be my last time here. I explained to the girl this is my first time here and although she was friendly, she didn’t really put too much effort into explaining much about the place.
I ordered the cheesesteak and asked for a regular order of fries. With a can of soda, the whole thing came to $19 and change. A little pricey in my opinion.
The fries came covered in Parmesan cheese. I wasn’t expecting that, that’s why I asked for regular fries. I wasn’t crazy about Parmesan cheese on my fries.
The Philly cheesesteak looked great at first, but as soon as I took a bite, it seemed really odd to me. The consistency of it was weird like very mushy. It almost seemed as though I was eating a pulled pork sandwich instead of a Philly cheesesteak. Honestly, I have a big appetite, but couldn’t finish it because of the taste. I actually took the meat out of the bread and ate the bread. Maybe it’s just not my thing but I didn’t like it.

Most amaaaaaazing grilled cheese sandwich I’ve had in a LONG time! I can’t remember the name but it had bacon and syrup!

Melty…cheesy…bread was buttery soft with a slight crunch, once you bit into it! Parmesan fries were fried to perfection! They have a local lemonade company’s products for purchase! Man, I want to go back after writing this review!

Nice atmosphere. Service was great. We both picked a sandwich to try and fries, drinks and water. It was over $40. Definitely more than we typically spend, thanks to spliting meals. There was more food than we could eat. The buffalo chicken cheese sandwich was really good, a lot of chicken and buffalo sauce. It didn’t make it to our return to list, but that’s only because we don’t usually do sandwich meals.

While the food was pretty good, I don’t think the price matched the meal. The fries portion was a good size. I didn’t like that the only soda options were in a can at $2.50 each. The table was sticky, but I can’t say if this is the norm. I do have to say that the location is great, right in the cargo district. If you are looking for a bite while walking around, Cheese Smith isn’t a bad option at all.

Visited while in town at high recommendation from our daughter. Prices seemed a little high but once we got our order, it seemed more reasonable with two “sandwiches”. Quite a few options to choose from. We ordered a few different ones and shared to try more than one. The beer cheese fries are a must get! Lots of great seating outside in a little courtyard style patio. Only ‘negative’ issue we would say is choices in beverages isn’t huge.
