Stacy and I were wandering around our old neighborhood in San Antonio and looking for someplace for a nice relaxed dinner on Stirling Dickinson. Stacy remembered that she had heard good things about Cheeses Loves You, which is now located in the same spot (Stirling Dickinson #7) that Mosho’s offers a wonderful breakfast and lunch. Italian food sounded good so we thought we would give it a try. I am glad we did.
When we first entered we were warmly greeted by owners/chefs Erick and Maria. In a matter of moments we were seated and we felt incredibly welcomed. Once seated our server, Geronimo, brought us menus and took our drink orders. While it was obvious that Geronimo was a new server, you could not ask for a more friendly, polite, or attentive server. He checked on us several times throughout the meal and constantly refilled our drinks (their agua fresca was amazing).
While we perused the menu chef Erich told us about the evening special. For 350 pesos, you received two different appetizers, your choice of pasta, drinks, and dessert. It sounded great so we both ordered the special.
The appetizers started with a bruschetta with a lemon whipped ricotta and fresh diced tomatoes. The creamy ricotta was fabulous and it made for a great start to the meal. Our second appetizer was a caprese salad with incredibly fresh tomatoes, perfect mozzarella, and fresh basil. Erick and Maria pride themselves on only using the freshest ingredients and it was obvious from the appetizers that the ingredients couldn’t get any fresher.
For our main dishes I chose the Neopolitan lasagna and Stacy selected the cannelloni stuffed with ricotta and spinach. The sauces were flavorful and both dishes oozed cheesey deliciousness. The pasta dishes were served with small side salads that were also very fresh. Portions were large but we both managed to finish our main dishes, they were that good!
For dessert we were brought two cannolis, which were just made, the shell was still warm to the touch. Stacy isn’t a big fan of cannolis because they are usually way too sweet, but we found these to be excellent with just the right blend of ricotta and crushed pistachio.
This was a wonderful meal. Erick and Maria made us feel like part of the family and did a wonderful job preparing snd presenting our meals. They are open from 4-8pm Monday through Saturday. Bring your appetites and enjoy this local gem.

Not sure which is better. The people behind Cheeses Loves You Or the food. David and his wife could not have been more welcoming. My husband and I enjoyed not only a wonderful meal but also enjoyed talking with the owners. We will definitely be back. I have very few photos of the food because we ate it all so quickly.

Wonderful experience from Appetizer to dinner and dessert. The crackerbread came out with salsa, tepanade, home made ricotta cheese & grapes. My dinner of beef roll was delicious! My friends enjoyed their wonderful dinners as well. Chicken Piccata, Lasagna & pasta. Canolis for dessert is a must, and it was a fabulous finish to a fantastic meal & evening. Our glasses were constantly filled with a refreshing citrus blend of lemon, grapefruit & orange. Eric & Maria are gracious hosts@ Will definitely return! Dinner hours begin 4- 9 daily.
