We were shown to our seats and the pleasure began. We both went for the all you can eat steak with seafood starters.
The giant prawns were very tasty, as were the muscles. As soon as they were eaten we were offered more. There was also a basket of bread rolls, chips, rice, and fried chorizo, and the same rule applied when they were eaten
We then started on the steak, which come pre-seasoned, and a hot stone on which to cook it. As soon as the stone started to cool another hot one was brought and thus cycle continues until you have had your fill. All the staff were extremely attentive and could not do enough.
I will most definitely be returning.
The sirloin steak just beat the rump in my opinion, but both were very tasty and we enjoyed cooking it on the table grill. My only comment would be the accompanying dishes weren’t really to my taste, rice was not hot and bland, black beans my hubby ate, and only veg choice was spinach, which I did enjoy. Would be good to have a few more choices of veg for those of us who prefer a healthier option to chips.
Sangria was very nice and I really appreciated the slice of cake and glass of Prosecco to celebrate my birthday – thank you
Service was excellent and very attentive, replenishing food and drinks regularly – our thanks go to Pedro and Jessica for making the evening so enjoyable. First class staff.
Booked in advance for Valentines…
Shocked, dismayed and disappointed that we had too share a table with another couple. Perhaps unfortunate that they held a conversation on the comparison of their meat shits the next morning!!
The lamb was disappointing, the steak though ok, the hot stone was cold by the time they asked on “the all you can eat”! If we wished for more.
It was 10 minutes before we could “cook” again.
I can’t fault the service staff, offering prosecco free of charge.
We did ask for another stone, (we like our steak rare), 3 hot stones later and over £100 light, was it worth the money?
My husband said he would never return. I WOULD! Not as a couple, maybe as a group booking. As the prawns/starters were great and the steak could be good. I didn’t have the fries, beans or rice, which my husband said were also disappointing.
Go with an open mind, I don’t recommend this place as a romantic/date night setting.
We do remember this as the Surrey Tavern and interesting to see how it has changed. Good to see the restaurant busy on a Friday evening.
There is a bar and the team kindly offered us the table early to enjoy a drink or two beforehand.
Super Bock as a beer with memories of our time in Portugal.
The two red wines my wife found on the list were unavailable, but found two more which matched the steaks nicely.
Our servers Bruno & Tiagolookedc after us really well … Thank you,!
Tomahawk steak for two was fun on the hot rocks. My wife’s t bone steak was even jucier
Good desserts all eaten before photos taken
