We love the kindness and beyond terrific food. The weekly special are fantastic. The service is friendly and food comes out fast. They don’t want you waiting long for a table to eat. Cheeks is a place that great for the whole family. They also bring in talented bands on the weekend.

Burgers were dry and over done. Didn’t make either order correctly and over fried the French fries. Literally nothing was good about the food. Will not return.
11/4 Update: Angela-Owner of Cheeks bar stalked me to Facebook, and messaged me after I left this review to attempt to make it better. Tonight, I came and picked up 2 of the same meals with the same feeling of disappointment. Atleast they got the order correct with fried onions but burgers were still dry and tasteless, fries over done, bacon burn to a crisp, fried onions over done and greasy.
Again, Chris or I will not return. We would rather go to McDonalds. Ill give one more star for the effort to make it right.

Really good fish fry. Loved the light breading on the cod. My old fashion was very good, too. We went late afternoon to avoid the rush and the service was quick and the food was freshly made. The bartender wore many hats – bartender, waitress and busser- and did a great job, was pleasantly and had a smile doing it all. Great experience!

Outstanding in every way. Bar is super clean and inviting. The burgers were the best my wife and I have ever had. Fries were done to perfection. The menu has lots of burger choices as well as numerous other entrees. Very large portions for the price. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. We will definitely be back when in the Wausau area. The bar is spacious with lots of room for quiet conversation.

I’ve been meaning to try this place for a fish fry and finally did tonight. I had the walleye with sweet potato fries and it was pretty good. It was reasonably priced at just over $20 for a beer and a meal. I had pleasure of the owner serve me and she was great.

Nice country tavern. Our burgers were very good. They have a nice varied small selection of tap beer and cocktails. On a Sunday afternoon, whole families were showing up with kids and everyone in the family was ordering food and sodas. It was very pleasant.

Cheeks Bar & Grill offers a welcoming and comfortable environment, and the friendly staff is awesome. I’ve tried most items on their regular menu, and their Friday night fish fry & weekly specials do not disappoint. Portions are superb, drinks reasonably priced and facility is very clean and well kept. The potential for a great meal is high, so try them out as you might just find a new favorite spot!

Ordered the hand breaded chicken tenders & the loaded tots with cheddar & crumbled bacon. Chicken tenders are a childhood fave & these hit the spot, especially with the house ranch & bourbon barbecue sauce. The food was fresh, hot & amazing. Friendly staff & awesome service, we would definitely come back again for snacks & drinks.

Such a huge improvement from before — so bright and spacious! The food was amazing with generous portions, and the service and atmosphere were both above and beyond. Bonus points for being the only place around with my favorite IPA on tap! Highly recommend!
