I rarely leave reviews, but this experience at Cheddar’s was beyond unacceptable.

When we were first seated and received our silverware, it was covered in old, dried food — clearly not washed properly. I brought it to the manager’s attention, and his response was simply, “They must have not thoroughly checked them.” That was it. No real apology, no urgency. And to top everything off, I didn’t notice that my cup had a big lipstick stain until I was done with my water. Disgusting.

They replaced the silverware, but somehow it got worse. The new napkins had a literal hairball on them, along with white hairs and some kind of white residue all over the napkins. It was disgusting. At that point, we were given plastic silverware instead. Imagine spending over $100 on a meal just to be forced to eat with plastic forks because the restaurant couldn’t properly wash their utensils. I didn’t take any pictures of the dirty utensils the first time because I wasn’t planning on posting a review like this one I figured they would just make it right and it would be a done deal and we would move forward honest mistake from the restaurant, but it wasn’t like that.

I had just worked over 14 hours on the frontline and was looking forward to sitting down to a nice hot meal with my family. Instead, we dealt with dirty silverware, filthy napkins, and poor service. Our server forgot multiple basic items — straws, napkins, and even extra shots for our drinks. Those didn’t arrive until we were nearly finished with the drinks. A second server eventually had to step in to help.

I understand restaurants get busy, especially on a Saturday night, and I understand that newer servers need experience — but you should not put an inexperienced waitress alone on a packed Saturday night shift. That falls on management.

What’s most disappointing is that there wasn’t even a sincere apology for the health hazard we were served — and yes, it was a BIG health hazard. This wasn’t just me; it was three other people at the table, including a 5-year-old child.

The food was decent, but it absolutely did not make up for the rest of the disaster. I would genuinely like to hear from the GM or corporate about how customers were confidently served dirty silverware in the first place.

Very disappointing experience overall.

The food was awful! Went for a birthday dinner. The birthday girl ordered the Steak and Chicken strips meal with loaded baked potato. The steak was like beef jerky. She had asked for medium rare. It come out like jerky. They took it back. It took 30 minutes so by then her food was cold, mine was also for waiting in her to start eating. My potato was raw and steak overcooked. But didn’t worry about that. So…. The her steak finally comes back. It come back rare. By then all we can do is laugh. We realize the dinner is just gonna be awful and a total birthday flop. the waiter was awesome. I feel bad he has to wait tables at a place that is going to make his job hard. The cooks were awful. Leaving a photo of the rare steak. I’m sure you can tell the potato is hard. Will not go back! Never! And we use to love coming here.

Very very disappointed!!! My night was ruined.I was at the hostess stand for almost 20 minutes on Monday night from 8:15 to 8:35 and no one at all attended to me. Mind you, it was not busy at all. Hosts and managers from that night please pay more attention and do better!

Cheddars offers large-portion homestyle cooking for value and great service

Their appetizer honey butter croissant is delectable!

I’ve always enjoyed their Alfredo Pasta although the Salmon was a bit dry. Their succulent ribs and hand-breaded chicken plate deal is great value and very tasty. The pecan salad was solid although t I would’ve liked seeing more variety in the vegetables provided.

Our server Jasmine was great!

The overall interior is well-kept and airy.

We had a party of 13 and were there over 2.5 hours and they were not busy at dinner time. Our waitress appeared to be fairly new and she could have used some help taking care of us. The food was ok but nothing to tell your friends about. My son told us this was his third time eating here and the service and food was mediocre at best all three times. We will not be back to this location and do not recommend, there are many other options in town to pick from.

Food was not good. Ordered the fried “white fish” to find out it is vietnamese swai fish, wbich is a very poor qualty, bacteria prone fish. The bathrooms are nasty, small kids running wild and kicking the booth. Service was just OK. would not go back. The only think decent were the buttered croissants

Busy but we’re seated quickly. Service was spectacular and she was there when we needed her. Like a mind reader. Took our order and came out quickly. The monte cristo is better than you can imagine. And I had the buffalo chicken wrapper. Big portions with fries. No way you walk out hungry unless you take half home with you. Price and portion can’t be beat. Oh and the warm sweet roll to start is such a nice treat.

At Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, every bite tells a story. I walked in expecting a routine meal, but what unfolded was a celebration of flavor and tradition—a true culinary ritual that left me both surprised and profoundly satisfied.

The journey began with a croissant that was nothing short of addictive. It reminded me of those irresistible Lay’s Potato Chips you simply can’t stop at one. Each flaky, buttery layer was a welcome prelude, setting the stage for the culinary performance to come.

Then came the star of the show: the buffalo beer‐battered shrimp. These shrimp weren’t just food—they were an experience. Big, fluffy, and golden brown, each piece was enveloped in a vibrant, tangy buffalo sauce that seemed to make the dish come alive. Every bite was a burst of flavor, a perfect harmony of crispy exterior and tender interior that captured the essence of what great casual dining should be.

The main event, however, was the Chicken Pot Pie—a dish that feels like home and haute cuisine all at once. Nestled in a warm ceramic bowl, the pot pie showcased chunky pieces of roasted chicken, lovingly “crushed” to reveal their hearty texture. The chicken mingled with robust vegetables and a rich, creamy sauce, all tucked under a delicately flaky crust. This wasn’t just comfort food; it was an ode to consistency and craftsmanship. The kitchen’s legacy, underscored by the fact that many of the chefs have been perfecting their recipes for over twenty years, was evident in every bite. The flaky crust, the well-seasoned filling, and the overall comforting presentation all spoke to a tradition of excellence that Cheddar’s clearly cherishes.

Complementing this hearty dish was a salad—a simple, fresh supporter that provided a much-needed balance to the richness of the pot pie. It wasn’t the centerpiece, but its role was vital; it offered a refreshing contrast and reminded me that even the simplest sides can elevate a meal when done right.

And then there was the dessert: an apple pie à la mode that carried the same flaky perfection and warmth as the pot pie. The sweet, tender apple filling paired with a cool scoop of ice cream created a harmonious ending, a final note in an unforgettable symphony of flavors.

During the meal, I had a brief but memorable conversation with Michael, the kitchen manager. His pride in his team was palpable as he explained that the very people crafting these dishes have been at it for two decades. There was something reassuring about knowing that such dedication and tradition underpinned every plate that came out of the kitchen—a reminder that consistency isn’t accidental but the result of hard work and passion.

At just $38 with tip, this entire experience—appetizer, main entree, dessert, and the comforting ambiance—felt like a rare treat in the casual dining landscape. It wasn’t about extravagant cocktails or flashy presentations; it was about genuine quality, a meal that resonated with authenticity and care. Whether you’re dining solo or planning a night out with someone special, this is the kind of experience that transforms an ordinary dinner into a memorable ritual.

Bon Appetit to the moments when a meal transcends the everyday. Here’s to the flaky, meaty, saucy, and sweet masterpieces at Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen—a place where every dish invites you to savor life a little more.

It is a good place that needs a clean up… My wife and I will semi-regularly come here for “date” lunch over the years. The menu has been paired down to a flip sheet and the fan is still missing a blade since like 2021… It really needs a couple days closed to deep clean or rip out some tile and stuff. Food has always been what I expected it to be and staff has been very good. After having a child, I do hate the kiosk things.
