I want to start off by saying this was our first time at this establishment. I love trying new to me places. There was a wait to get a table for two. About 15 minutes. No problem there. We get seated and it was Anthony that waited on us and the whole section. We ordered frozen margaritas which was really good. To get down to the food. The ribs were overcooked making them dry, the shrimp was supposed to be breaded my husband received grilled, the seasoned rice wasn’t seasoned. The chicken tenders were overly seasoned and had too much breading. Also to top it off the all the food came out cold. Anthony said because they were waiting on the ribs. He also said although he feels bad he doesn’t control the cooks. Which rubs me the wrong way. Take accountability because that establishment should run as a team. Don’t point the blame it looks bad. The manager I believe Amy I could be wrong was nice enough about the situation and wanted to make it right but with the long wait even to receive the food I explained we just didn’t have time because we had an appointment to get to. She did discount the order. We ordered ribs, shrimp, chicken tenders, fries, corn, rice mashed potatoes and the frozen margaritas. We will NOT be returning. Although the prices were reasonable and the ambiance was nice. We would’ve loved to enjoy the actual meal.

I was disappointed for somewhere that’s usually packed. Good prices but they need a new cook… was not impressed, the food lacks flavor majorly. The appetizer was good but the spinach dip was also flavorless. Chips were covered in salt. The garlic bread was buttered bread and burnt. All around disappointed. Don’t let these pretty pictures fool you

I work on the road most of the week and the norm has become grab something quick then head back to the hotel. I finally decided I wanted a decent sit down meal and the stylist at sports clips mentioned this place. The vibe of this place is upscale on the outside party on the inside . Everyone from the hostess to the server and the trainee were fantastic with great personalities. The sweet croissant was an unexpected surprise and quite tasty. The cheese curds were also pretty good and you get a ton so definitely a sharing appetizer. I ended up going with the chicken tenders and they are well above your average chicken tenders. I got them thinking it would be a “lighter” meal and they pack the portion sizes on! The bacon queso fries were delicious and the coleslaw was on par with the rest of the meal. I couldn’t finish it and looking at the plates going to other tables you best bring your appetite! Now for the best part the value! I couldn’t believe what the bill was for all the quality food I had just got. I will certainly visit again when I’m back in the area!

Every year, my company gives me a gift card for the holidays to order food and I’ve chosen Cheddar’s for the last 3 years including this year. I get the same order every time, the family size chicken tender meal and the family size side salad. I’m not sure what is different this year, but I was very disappointed. Not sure if it was the $10 salad that looked like this with all of 5 croutons to split amongst my family or that the honey butter croissants (I forgot to take a picture of) were all dry and lacked honey butter. I get that they are “complimentary” but when I spend $40+ on my family meal to go, I expect the same quality as if we came in to eat . I was just very disappointed with these small things because I love Cheddar’s and we normally have had good luck in the past when I order these family meals for take out, but something definitely changed this year.

I’ll start off by saying our overall experience was good and we will go again but there are some glitches. I went with my wife and daughter to celebrate my wife’s birthday and it was on a Sunday afternoon around 1pm and this is where my wife chose to go. Her and my daughter absolutely love the chicken tenders. I had the country fried steak, something I haven’t had since I was a kid. The food was very good with one exception and that was the corn. I don’t know if this “off the cob corn” is how it’s supposed to be in Texas but it’s not for me. It tasted old and was almost like rubber. Like most people from Wisconsin I was raised eating corn on the cob and every year we remove the kernels to freeze batches of it, their corn doesn’t come close. The service was slow and we waited about 25 minutes to get a table which is okay until you pass several open tables on your way to be seated. They may be having the same problem alot of places are having right now with finding people who want to work so I wouldn’t hold it against them. Normally I wouldn’t mind the wait either, sometimes it’s because the place is popular but I checked the website before we left the house and there’s an option to kind of get in line before you get there but it said there was no wait time, so that needs to be addressed. As I said at the start of this we will be going back, on a side note, my daughter goes there quite often. Our server was pleasant and the food was delicious and the menu offers many options. My daughter said the green beans are good so I’ll be trying those instead of the corn next time. With that said I wish them all the success they can handle and hope they’re around for a good long time.

I visited around 8:15 PM on a Saturday and was really disappointed with my experience. When we arrived, we were told that the restaurant was out of several items — from rice to nearly all the desserts — which was surprising, especially since the restaurant is open until 11.
I ordered the ribs and shrimp, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst meals I’ve had. The food came out within just a few minutes, which seemed unusual, and the ribs tasted like they had been sitting for hours and were just covered with extra sauce to reheat them. I only took a few bites before deciding to stop eating. The mashed potatoes also had an off taste and color.
My friend ordered the salmon, and she didn’t enjoy her meal either — it wasn’t cooked properly. When we asked to speak with a manager, we were told someone would come by shortly, but no one ever did.
This was really disappointing, especially because I’ve never had an issue here before. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving both food quality and customer service for future guests.
Would you like me to make it sound more polite and tactful (better for a public review), or more direct and firm (if you want to really get management’s attention)?

We visit to Appleton once a year and this time we tried Cheddar’s. It was so good the other night we went back again last night. And to be honest we walked out as soon as we sat at two different (higher rated)restaurants in 3 days. It doesn’t take much to please us but we do understand quality. We avoided coming to Cheddar’s because of the reviews on here specifically… but our experience was top notch. From our 40+ years combined experience being managers, this place obviously shows serious intent to be an excellent restaurant. Welcoming, modern, cool vibe. Overall clean and comfortable establishment. Great food!! We feel silly we didn’t give this place a chance sooner. Service was excellent all the way through both times going. We’re definitely coming back next year. We recommend the Monte Cristo (better than Bennigan’s), fried cheese curds, Chicken fried steak, and Sweet carrots.

This is my first experience at the restaurant, and it was very obvious to me through the cleanliness of the restaurant and the general staff that there’s a management issue. The staff was definitely shorthanded in the restaurant, which seemed quite new and well done was in a bit of disarray, I needed to be cleaned and capped up better. The overall food quality was pretty good and the drinks were OK. This has the potential of being a great place. but someone needs to step up their game. The prices to the food quality seem to be on par and the biscuits you get the beginning of the meal we’re amazing. I look forward to trying it again in the near future.

We like this restaurant. I wonder if the important people ever read these…we’ve never once had veteran wait staff, so we wonder if they’ve a high turnover. The staff is ALWAYS nice, attentive enoooough, but there are mistakes, every time. Nothing to keep us away & nothing to keep the staff from getting a good tip because it’s obvious they’re trying.
AAAAANYWAY…good food. They’ve managed to cover every category & also the apps are great. Cornbread white fish? Excellent! Carrot cake, my gawwwwd. Drinks too. Cozy & yum. Go there!

Food was really good. Had the blackened white fish. The atmosphere wasn’t anything to write home about — needs a little more of something. Service was great! Wait staff checked in with us more than a few times to make sure we had everything we needed! A+
