Prices were reasonable, which is a plus, but I felt like the quality didn’t quite match the hype. It wasn’t terrible, but it also wasn’t someplace I’d go out of my way for. If you’re nearby and want a casual meal, it’ll do the job, but don’t expect anything special.
No waiting for lunch, so that was a plus. Nice restaurant decor, modernly old, but in a good way. The booths had higher walls so it seemed more intimate and not so on top of people.
Our service was phenomenal. Shellece was an amazing server. She seemed like a genuinely nice person, who cared that we were there. She was there when we needed her and knew just when to pass. Shellece was the type of employee everyone wants to represent their company.
The food was quite delicious. They bring you 4 cressent rolls with a special drizzle. Oh my my, those are worth the trip by themselves. Light and airy, almost donut-like. If you try the drizzle, expecting it to be a icing taste, you would be sadly mistaken. Its a cinnamon butter delight. One kiddo got a kids chicken tenders & a salad, the other kiddo got the kids penne pasta Alfredo with broccoli cheese casserole. Parents split the Cheddars Trio Sampler. The chicken tenders were delicious. Very juice with a crunchy flakey breading. The spinach dip was yummy. Even the kiddos dove into that. And the queso dip w/meat added, was one of the better quesos we’ve had in a while. The kidos both enjoyed their meals. Except for the broccoli cheese casserole, that was rice cheese and broccoli. I don’t think it was what she expected, as she said she did not like it, but she eats those items regularly.
Overall, our first trip was a good one. We will be back to try more food and see its its as delicious as the sample. Lol. Give them a shot! Hopefully you get Shellece as a server!
Unfortunately I went today at this Cheddar’s close to the intersection of I75 and US 56 and I was extremely disappointed. The menu picture looks like what I got in 2015, but the cake they brought was half the size, a small piece barely 4 inches long. The manager, which I called, claimed that it was their 3 layer cake, to which I pointed out their layers were barely 3/4 of an inch thick while the current menu pictures and the one I got years ago were more like 1.5 inch thick. Anyway, I told him I didn’t want that pitiful of an excuse of a cake and to take it back.
Now I’m not even tempted to ever go back to Cheddar’s, and that wonderful memory of that cake I had in 2015 has been ruined by today’s imitation of a cake. (And the ribs were terrible too).
I only hope that this is a Cheddar’s that has strayed from the corporate guidelines in order to make profits and I could find other Cheddar’s which respect the menu pictures if I ever decide to look for one. Right now I’m totally unimpressed.
I regret forgetting to take a picture of what cake they brought but just imagine the piece I got in 2015, or their menu piece, cut in half. That’s what they thought they could get away with. At first I was going to take it anyway but when he started arguing that it was “their 3 layers” cake that’s was too much and I knew it was unacceptable to agree to keep that piece of cake.
For our entrees I got the New Orleans pasta which was very underwhelming. It did have a lot of meat which was nice but it simply wasn’t very flavorful. My boyfriend got the shrimp Alfredo pasta and he didn’t like it. Our main complaint with the pastas is that the sauce was very soupy and liquidy, not thick and creamy like I would’ve liked.
For dessert we got the cookie skillet which was pretty average but enjoyable.
Honestly my favorite part out of all the food was the croissant they served in the beginning which had this amazing glaze on it and was so soft. Wasn’t sure if I could get more for free but I feel like you can.
Our service was also really good. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. Our food came out really quickly.
I won’t be returning because even though they’re not expensive the quality of food is not good.
This was hands-down one of the worst Cheddar’s experiences I’ve ever had.
I ordered the chicken tenders and shrimp platter. The chicken tenders looked like the bottom-of-the-bag scraps—tiny, shriveled pieces that honestly looked like leftovers no one would want. Worst chicken tenders I’ve ever seen. The shrimp were about the size of my pinky, which is ridiculous for a shrimp platter.
My wife ordered the pot pie and it was even worse—burnt, missing filling, and easily one of the worst pot pies she’s ever had.
The wait time for food was absurdly long, which only made it more frustrating when the food finally came out in that condition. They did offer to fix it, but after waiting that long, the damage was already done.
The only positive was our waitress—she was very helpful, polite, and did her best in a bad situation. No complaints about the service.
For comparison, we’ve eaten at the Cheddar’s in Lakeland (Checkers location) and had a great experience. Night and day difference. Unfortunately, the Wesley Chapel location is a zero. We won’t be back.
