Went to Checo’s for lunch on a Thursday. It was very clean and had a good atmosphere. The host was friendly and sat us down immediately. Our server was very prompt and friendly. He really took great care of us. The food was delicious and served quickly. When my niece asked for a to-go box, he not only brought it but a separate container for the leftover salsa and a new bag of chips. It was a very sweet gesture as she is a nurse and the leftovers were to be her dinner in the middle of the night during her shift. Best of all, the server managed to be attentive without interfering in our conversation. That takes talent and observation. Overall, a very pleasant experience.

The portions are skimpy for what you pay. I’ve had their food a few times and it’s fairly bland. I ordered takeout once and everything was soggy like it had been sitting for a while. I was excited to have Mexican food in town but I’m holding out for something tasty with better value.

We loved this restaurant environment. We passed through heading back to LUBBOCK TX! Great food great prices and portions we’re more than enough. The whole staff was very friendly. Made our family feel good to find such an authentic Mexican place so far away from home.

Good food … large portions and you wont leave hungry. I dont understand the comments about the portions and the staff. They are people and they have bad days also, and ask for a different person if they are not satisfying you. Great place, great food and great times…. keep in up!!!!

I’ve never been here during their busy times and the service definitely needs improvement. The waitress either can’t be found taking long periods of time to bring complementary chips and water (water you have to ask for), taking your order, and bringing your barely luke warm food. Or you have a problem with the waitress coming back so often you feel like the next thing that is gonna happen is she will force feed you and shove you out the door.
I’ve been there at least half a dozen times and service is always poor. Waitress is unable to get our order right and acts like it is an issue if something is ordered without something it typically comes with. And the food seems very bland compared to other Mexican food restuarants.

Host got aggravated bc we didn’t wanna sit at table at the door, we have a small child and didn’t wanna catch breeze. He kept staring at me thru entire meal. Hubs food was good, my vegetables weren’t cook enough, still very crispy. Don’t know if we will go back. Even if it is convenient.

Sunday evening last minute choice, which was a great one. Friendly staff, good decor, clean, good service, and the food has authentic flavor of Mexico. Will definitely return.
