This place is great. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming.
It wasn’t even 5 minutes from the time I walked in to getting a giant plate of bbq nachos for my table. The rest of the service was excellent. As a former waiter myself I’m always pleasantly surprised when servers pay attention to the fullness of your drinks and get you refills before you run out. As someone who drinks a lot when I’m out a restaurant, this aspect of service is very important to me .
They have nice blues music playing in the background that fits the ambiance perfectly. The waitresses have those very friendly southern vibes. Expect to be called “baby” and “darling” multiple times as you are being waited on .

Service was decent. The BBQ and burger were dry. Neither of the burgers were cooked to the temperature requested. Husband ordered onion rings and there were literally 7 on his plate.

I’ve only ordered to go and never sat inside. This place is AMAZING! The ribs are the best ribs I’ve had in Louisville, the cheese fries are so full of flavor and soooo cheesy, and potato salad is unique and delicious, and best of all they are not stingy with the portions. 10/10 recommend. Pictured is BBQ chicken sandwich, cheese fries, potato salad.

The atmosphere was great and nice seating. I had to give it a 3 star because I ordered the fish sandwich and fries which neither were hot, one piece rye bread hard and the piece of fish was good but very small piece, very disappointing. I will not order it again and would have returned it but was with a large group that were already getting their food. We had 10 in our party and service was quick and waitress very good.

Checks’ food is phenomenal! I ordered wings for the Super Bowl, and they did not disappoint. I was really impressed with the size of the wings. I really enjoyed the breading, it makes the difference. My order was prepared promptly and was ready at the pick up time they gave me. The atmosphere in Checks is really cool, I liken it to a honky rink/blues bar that has great people and great service.
