Had a delicious pepperoni pizza and Alfredo chicken. Very welcoming atmosphere from the cashier to getting seated. Also other clients seem happy to be to dine or take out. Definitely recommend this Checkers Pizza

This place is absolutely amazing!! I’m speechless. Everyone who works here is so extremely wonderful and kind. They are the real deal. The chef salad is to die for with the homemade Italian dressing, chefs kiss. The chicken Alfredo with a little Parmesan is so juicy and flavorful. Even the pizzas are bigger and flavorful. Would 1 million percent recommend this place to others

Let’s start with the Steak and Cheese Sub, because credit where credit is due: thank you for not calling this a Philly cheesesteak. Seriously. That restraint alone deserves recognition. Too many places around here slap “Philly” on anything with beef and melted cheese, and that’s just culinary misinformation. Ownership clearly knows better, and I respect that.

That said… the sub itself is pretty mid. It’s mostly bread and mayo, with the absolute minimum amount of meat and cheese required to legally call it a steak and cheese. I get it—beef prices are high—but at some point the ratio gets a little absurd. I’m not asking you to import rolls from Del Co. or pretend this is South Philly, but you can do better.

I’ve lived up and down the East Coast, including Philly and the DC area. In the DC area even a basic steak and cheese usually comes with a solid portion of meat, white American cheese, fried onions, and a roll that actually holds up. What I got here was very little meat, melted cheese, a lot of mayo, no fried onions, and a roll that feels like it came straight out of a Food Lion bag. Raise the price a bit and fix the ratios—this sub needs an overhaul.

Now, the cheese pizza is a different story. This is classic Greek-style pizza (Google it if that term is new to you), and it’s actually pretty good. Definitely a step up from most national chains. I loved the garlic-forward cheesiness and the pillowy soft crust. The sauce is subtle—I had to double-check that it was even there—but honestly, that works for me. I like cheese, I like garlic, and this delivered.

The pizza is also cheap, which makes total sense given the location near NC State. This feels like the kind of pizza you’d get at a school pizza party, or that ever-so-special work pizza party that shows up instead of a raise or bonus. And I mean that in the best possible way. It’s basic, no-frills, filling, and worth your time if that’s what you’re looking for.

Final verdict:
The pizza is solid, affordable, and does exactly what it’s supposed to do. The steak and cheese… not so much. Fix the meat-to-bread ratio and this place could be a lot better overall.

Lunch pizza special comes with 2 large NY style slices and a drink. The fruit punch was very diluted and flavorless. Wasn’t happy about that. Got a side salad, didn’t care for the feta cheese used.

Feels like going into a classic place. Pizza is really good here. Pasta is hit or miss depending on how you like it.

They accidentally gave me the wrong pizza and before I could get home called me and said to come back and could pick up the pizza I ordered and get a free pizza. A place that wants to make sure you get good service before making a profit. Worth the return

This was by far the WORST experience I’ve ever had with a restaurant. I called to place a delivery order, was kept waiting on the phone for 20 minutes, and then told they “don’t deliver” to my address (even though they’ve done it before!). After going back and forth, they finally took my order.

When the pizza showed up, it was BURNT. Completely inedible. And the delivery driver had the worst attitude I’ve ever seen — I simply asked if he could take card, and instead of answering politely, he rudely said “you told me cash,” then threw the change at me and walked off. Absolutely disgusting service.

To top it all off, the prices are insane — $16 for a SMALL cheese pizza?! For burnt food and rude service? What a joke.

I will NEVER waste another dollar here again. Do yourself a favor and go to Capola Pizza in Cary instead — they actually know how to treat customers with respect and deliver decent food.
