Wrong burger, took the order wrong as well..
Pictured is a double checker burger… thats obviously a single patty with nothing else.
Ckn burger was disappointing as well.
The whole place has a different feeling to it which fast food doesn’t have anymore; I guess it’s because it has an interesting design.
The bad: I asked for two cheeseburgers for the 2 for $6 combo deal. I expected 2 cheeseburgers, fries, and a drink for $6- that’s reasonable. What I got was two double cheeseburgers, fries, and drink for a whopping $9.90!!! What wasn’t whopping was the size of the burgers. They were tiny. So I’m a bit disappointed.
I totally get that they probably misheard me. That’s okay. But I was having a tough day and was hoping for some good food w/o trouble. I should have corrected it when I got my receipt, but it was 1:30 A.M. and I was just too tired. Instead I got guilt for paying $10 for fast food.
Also, they only have nasty coke things and sweet tea. I ended up getting a sweet tea and had to throw it out b/c it was (obv.) sweet. It was basically water syrup. Yuck!
In the app (I didn’t use the app because I couldn’t put in my card for some reason) you have to get a drink with the 2 for $6 combo. Because of that I probably won’t be coming back here often since pouring out the drink is wasteful (not the drink itself. That’s worth nothing- the cup and straw.) I’m still interested in the basically (they call it something else) chicken bites they have here so I might be back one more time though.
I wish I could rate 5 stars because the staff were great, but I can’t because:
Overcharge- what I ended up getting was not worth the money.
Coke products only
Small burgers
Small fries
Why am I spending my time writing this review? I have no idea.
4/26
Update: asked for ranch sauce with chicken and fries box and got honey mustard. *Sigh*. I was the only one there and my order was only that too.
Have a nice day 🙂
I think I’ll stick with El Pollo Loco next time I want food in the area. It’s actually tasty food.
Also, someone here has a picture of a hair in their food posted… I prefer not to have hair in my food. That’s the reason I never eat at the Sherwood sonic anymore…
Update 2024/12/05:
This Checker’s has now fully descended into an abyss of apathetic service and shoddy food preparation. Each visit elicits new boundaries of disappointment—orders bungled despite lack of customers, fries rationed as if a precious commodity, undersized burgers squeezed between carelessly charred buns. The staff acts as if they don’t care, treating customers like they’re a burden on their time. While the restaurant itself still maintains a veneer of cleanliness, it seems only a matter of time before its upkeep crumbles as well, becoming yet another grease-stained testament to the ever-downward spiral of fast food in Baton Rouge. My hopes for improvement have been dashed—this Checkers now firmly occupies the circle of eateries to avoid.
I ordered an XL sized fries, and they only gave me half a cup. It’s $5 for this thing, and I got the equivalent of a medium fry. See picture included.

It’s Checker’s. You know what you’re getting.
This store has very inconsistent service. Occasionally, your order will be right, but typically, it will be wrong. Even if you’re the only car in line late at night. I had this happen to me on more than one occasion. People just don’t pay attention (or care) anymore.
The line splits for ordering, but comes back together for food delivery. This is unlike most Checker’s I’ve visited, where lanes go on both sides of the restaurant.
The store is clean–for now. Give it enough time and the upkeep will falter, and it will be like every other fast food restaurant in this town. Enjoy it while you can.
