Finally, the drive thru worker seated us and we STILL had to wait for the waitress…
When we finally got waited on, Wednesday luch with not many customers, we saw only 2 waitresses on duty.
After taking our order, it took unusually long wait for our food.
I ordered brisket plate, wife got smoked sausage.
My brisket, just 3 slices, appeared dry and is most definitely was the most driest I ever got any where. Although flavor was there, still not worth the $18+
Wife’s smoked sausage on the other hand was tasty and moist.
My cold slaw side was plain as it could be…I’ve had worst but, nothing to write home about.
Wife’s potato salad was also tasteless, she didn’t even eat galf of it.
The surprise for me was the hush puppies. They were the absolute best ones I have ever had. Very good.
Friendly staff and very clean restaurant.
Service was amazing! Very sweet waitress, and refilled drinks before we had to ask.
Only negative was no onions rings or chicken tenders, they had run out, but we also came an hour before close.
Definitely check this place out if you’re in the mood for BBQ!
(They charge extra if paying with credit)
The beef brisket plate is a joke for $18, dry and wasn’t even hot.
Chopped bbq plate was bland.
Onion rings were barely breaded.
Terrible.
Go somewhere else.
Was very hopeful that their BBQ was good when I saw a smoker outside. At least we can assume they dont buy pre-made meat.
I got BBQ pork platter with potato salad and coleslaw. Wife got BBQ pulled chicken platter with collards and Mac & cheese. We also got the brisket “small plate” to share. Each of the 3 came with hushpuppies.
First and foremost, SALT AND PEPPER… a little seasoning can go a long way. Pork was bland with zero flavor (but at least it wasn’t dry). Potato salad tasted like boiled potatoes and mayo. No flavor to them. Coleslaw was literally chopped cabbage and maybe some mayo also, but no flavor at all. Their house BBQ “grilling sauce” saved the BBQ pork. The pulled chicken looked like they maybe boiled some chicken thighs in liquid smoke. Wife said the collars were good (a few hours later, she quickly changed her mind! Lol). Mac and cheese = bland. Hushpuppies, nothing more than a little fried dough ball. Now after all that, the worst part of it all was the “brisket”. We laughingly called it beef jersey. It was so hard and dry.
The server asked if we wanted to go boxes after eating almost none of the food, we said no thanks. He asked if we enjoyed it. We told him the service was decent and thats about it. I mentioned the hard dry brisket, he said “yeah I saw what it looked like. It looks hard”. I asked why he served it then and he said I dunno.
Unfortunately google won’t let me post photos because I took some so I could share what the beef jerkey, i mean brisket, looked like…
There we go. I think it let me add the photos.
It had a nice homey feel to it, the hostess was friendly, and our waitress was awesome. I opted for a basic salad while my son ordered the BBQ Pork with hush puppies and onion rings, and we both had a diet soda. My salad was unremarkable, but fresh, and my son really enjoyed his pulled pork platter.
Due to the very friendly atmosphere and comfy family vibe, I would definitely visit again.
