First impressions walked right in and was greated and I and informed to sit anywhere we would like. Service was fast got our drinks in a blink of an eye. We got the fried pickles and they are home made its hard to find good deep fried pickles. Also got the chicken Philly and my other half got the chopped BBQ sandwich we both got wedges and it was delicious. Can’t believe I have lived here in Salisbury for almost 10 years and it was my first time eating there. Would recommend giving it a try!

I could tell this is a local’s favorite. From the moment I walked in, the waitress talked with everyone about more than just their food order. She also knew each person that came in the door.
Parking is a little tight especially in the morning when the food delivery trucks are coming in. The interoir is race inspired which matches perfectly with restuarant name.
As you can see on the menu, they have something for everyone. I order the sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit and a side of home fries. Nothing tasted store bought. Each item on the biscuit tasted fresh and the home fries were seasoned perfectly. I highly recommend.

Finally was able to take my wife to Checkered Flag BBQ in Salisbury. We live 45 minutes away in Charlotte and it was near lunch time when we got in the area, so we decided to go here. The food was excellent. We both got a BBQ sandwich, split a fry and I ordered a hotdog. No, I didn’t need it.
The picture looks funny as I was attempting to split the footlong in half. Didn’t realize it was a footlong until it came to the table. There’s a picture of a “hotdog man” on the window, which prompted me to order one. The hotdog was so good that after my wife took one bite, she proceeded to take 2 more.
The BBQ sandwiches were just the right size. Ample BBQ and slaw on both. The fries were hot and fresh.
Oh, and the sweet tea was outstanding.
I guarantee, we’ll be back.

I had 3 Veg Plate & Val had Smoked Mushroom Burger with Fried Squash & Fried Okra! Had to get carryout for balance of food!
Introduced Val to Southern Desserts! Love! Love! Love! Hummingbird Cake! Now she wants a whole cake!!
