My niece got a veggie sandwich with a spicy jalapeño aoli (I think). According to my niece, the spicy was spicier than usual today. I had a French dip and really appreciated the 3 different sub sandwich lengths: 4″, 8″, and 12″. It is difficult for me to finish a 6″ (others), so the 4″ sandwich was perfect. The French dip usually has mushrooms and onions on it as well. I’m a plain sandwich girl, which is another reason this place was good for us. A little adventure with an opportunity for simplicity.
The uniquely crafted sandwich often provide a handcrafted, more artisan feel. I enjoyed the garlic and herb bread, too.

Best place to eat. I can’t eat bread anymore so I whisked to salads. Man it is just as good or better as a salad with extra dressing. Mmmm, delicious.

We were looking for a quick bite near UNM. We have been to Cheba Hut before but not this location. Place was a little busy but not crazy. I am a turkey sandwich person and love a hot turkey sandwich. My wife prefers ham. The young lady who took our order was very nice. My sandwich was delicious but could have been a little warmer. It was a good experience.

Charming wonderful place for the restless. Closes a 2 am, exceptional for Albuquerque . Food is wonderful, and the bar and the bartenders are awesome, any day of the week. I would give it 6 stars because i frequent it often , it’s CONSISTENT IN AMBIENT AND SERVICE ! Special shout to the bartender crew all of them !

Update* I increased the rating from 1 to 3 because the manager reached out to offer a free meal/gift card. I won’t be taking the offer but at least management care.

I ordered online but was shocked to see a lot of the chips were burnt and the veggies were sparse. I took it back saying they needed to remake it. I said it several times, remake it fresh. They put it back through the oven a second time making the chicken dry and shriveled and the cheese hard and disgusting. Worst ever, you’ve wasted my time and money ! You will not stay in business long if this is how you’re going to treat your customers.

Hollow gesture!

My response to the owner:

Please explain the purpose for me to send you an email? So, basically you want me to send an email and repeat the same complaint that was already mentioned in my google review. I sent the email per your request last week. I’m still waiting for your response. I noticed a trend regarding all your google complaint review responses, asking the reviewer to send an email. This restaurant is all a farce and the fauxpology lacks sincerity and genuine remorse.

Ordered two of THE KIND (TURKEY, BACON & SHROOMS) BLUNT [12″]
Disappointed to discover only two slices of turkey in each order. At least, the Grape Kool-Aid was good.

I recently visited Cheba Hut and had an awesome experience! I ordered the Midwest Best, and my husband went with the Dank. Both sandwiches were very, very tasty—packed with flavor and perfectly made. The ingredients were fresh, and the portions were generous, making it a super satisfying meal. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re craving a delicious, laid-back sandwich spot!

A mediocre sandwich shop.

We ordered a beef dip with extra cheese for lunch after walking around in the area.

The service was OK but not great, especially for how quiet it was.

The beef dip was probably the worst I’ve ever had. The sandwich was stone cold. The cheese wasn’t even remotely melted. The flavors are bland.

The bread was good and the quality of the meat was passable but I can’t recommend this place, every other option in the area would be a step up

When I got to Cheba Hut, or when I take friends to Cheba Hut, I know we will find a sandwich that is affordable, tastes great and is appropriate of our dietary preferences. When I was eating meat, I gravitated to the Sensei Kush sandwich, but now that I am turning into a vegetarian, I lean toward the Power Plant. “It’s all good,” as they say. Actually it’s all great and I always look forward to visiting there. Not only is the food outstanding but the atmosphere is friendly and multi-generational. If you want great food, this is most definitely the place to go!

Moved from Az and I visited Cheba Hut for the first time in Phx. Ordered the Jamaican Red and it was phenomenal. I’ve been craving it ever since so I had such high hopes to experience that again. Visited this location today, ordered the same sub, and to my disappointment the sub barely had chicken to the point I had to get a fork and dig to find it. Additionally, it was lacking sauce and overall didn’t look similar to what it looks like on the online menu. Yes, it’s not going to be exact in appearance but I did question whether or not I received the right sub because of how much it lacked compared to my first stop in Az, who topped it big time. Knowing what I should have gotten, to seeing what I received here, was pretty disappointing. It was a really busy time of day we went. The last thing needed for the staff was my complaint. I appreciate their hard work and the dope environment. I’m glad I tried this location out, but I can’t say I’ll be back… Az it is. Thank ya’ll so much though!
