Found my favorite pizza . The sausage mushroom was very tasty . Also ordered a Greek salad and it was delicious. Had fresh thyme which added a bump in flavor. Nice red wine dressing that I took home .
Got seated inside at a table overlooking the park. Great spot if you can score a window table.
November 2024:
Stopped by for dinner and ate at the bar. Had the pineapple pizza with a beer on tap. Excellent pizza. Crust was thin and tasty . Would definitely come back again for more delicious food.
October 2024:
Stopped by for a slice of pepperoni pizza . We were trying to get a table inside but they were completely booked. So we went to the side window where they sell slices.
Overall, pizza was delicious. Will try to come back and get seated inside.
– really nice location
– good crust
– nice toppings
– pizza counter and sit down restaurant
Depends on taste:
-Parmesan forward
-thick crust
Cons:
– expensive ($9.12 for a slice of pepperoni before any tip)
– toppings are sparse
Overall pretty nice addition to the area. While pricey, it’s in line with the brand and location. The spot overlooking the water is great. I’d probably rank it in one of the top 10 pizzas in SF
The food itself is great! We loved the pizza. I do think the vodka pizza was cooked slightly too long, and the crust wasn’t as soft as the other pizza we got. Overall, pretty good, but definitely room to improve!! Get the suppli as well!!
It’s like they’re trying not to make money?!
It’s Superbowl weekend. Be open all day. Let people sit at the bar and order overpriced drinks. It’s not rocket science.
But no prob, we’ll take our business elsewhere. ✌
Food: The pizza is decent and has good ingredients. Comparing with a traditional Italian or Naples pizza, this is more close to a New York style pizza where the crust and dough are more oily and dead / heavy on the palate. With many exceptional Pizza places in SF, this wouldn’t be my go to for pizza. However, it’s a good visit if you are around Chase center.
The pizzas were 2 stars – Pepperoni pizza had no more than 12 pepperonis on the entire pizza. I couldn’t believe it but I didn’t want to create a scene. The pizza had no flavor too which made it worse. The suppli was soggy unlike the usual crispy that we enjoy. The mozzarella sticks were good.
Now let’s talk service – I wanted to not leave a tip because the service was terrible. Never has service been good at this restaurant no matter what day, or party size, busy or not, but today was really really bad. The servers don’t show up ever to ask how the food is, you have to wave your hand for 5-7 minutes even for water multiple times. None of the servers will ever come and ask if you need another drink or anything more to order. But you’re always charged a tip even if it’s shitty service and you’re ordering through an app. Horrible and I wouldn’t want to return. I hope Via Aurelia doesn’t go down this path too.
And to judge this let’s talk a simple cheese pizza. Served to me near closing time on a night when nothing was happening at Chase Center. And yet the pizza was perfection – probably one of the best pizzas I’ve had in SF.
The sauce was rich and flavored. The cheese was the right cheesiness. And the crust and undercrisp were amazing. They’ve got some special talent here in the crust department.
Staff was super friendly. It’s a great spot to actually try when the Chase Center is otherwise quiet.
I will be back…
