It honestly depends what time of day you are eating here. I’ve eaten here in the morning, and everything is usually good and up to quality but unfortunately the one day I decided to eat here in the afternoon, not sure if it was the crew that day or just an accident but I unfortunately got food poisoning from a burger I ate. I usually like coming here now I’ll just stick to the morning if I’m really really craving it.

You cannot go wrong with mom’s fav #13 burger combo for $7.99 of burger, fries, & drink!. The chicken meals and pancakes are good too. They have a good size seating area.

Went there recently, wasn’t sure about this place cause it has a lot of good reviews from past years holding up it’s ratings, but the latest reviews are true, this place has gone down hill ever since the new owners took ownership. They kept the Chavez name to this place but the new owners im pretty sure are Chinese investors. I ordered a rotisserie chicken and I swear this thing was probably one of those Kroger $5 cooked chicken they sell at the supermarket. I imagine this is what they do now. They go to like food4less/Kroger, they buy these things in bulk and just have them laying there under a heater waiting for someone to order. Mexican rice that came with it was obviously that chemical packet stuff, not actually real tomato puree, and the refried beans were obviously canned with extra oil thrown in I would say. Honestly just go to the Pollo loco not that far up the street.

Very delicious and juicy chicken. My husband walked from White Memorial Hospital where I was in Labor and by the time he walked back up to the room, the food came really hot and juicy…

The chicken is absolutely delicious! The hamburgers are awesome! I highly recommend this place! This location has been in the neighborhood since the 80’s. Not sure if they are the same family owners. The prices are reasonable. You will not be dissapointed.

This was my first visit, with that said I ordered chicken, rice and beans. The chicken was moist and flavorful. The beans were also not bad, the rice and the salsa oh my gosh! I have never had worse rice in my life. Even when I was learning to make Spanish rice, my first few tries didn’t come out this bad. I would go back for the chicken since that was worth the money and trip however never ever order the rice.
