Great food, well priced and delicious. The restaurant was empty, so it worked as a great place for a meeting. Our waitress was kind and looked after us well. My wife and I are both celiac and we had lots to choose from. We landed on the Mango Chicken and the Kahari Chicken, and both were great, with a good portion size. We will definitely be back!

On October 22, 2025, I visited Butter Chicken Hut in Stony Plain to pick up an online order costing over $140. As a newcomer to the area, I was excited to try this restaurant based on some positive food reviews, despite warnings about staff rudeness. Unfortunately, my experience confirmed the latter.
Upon arrival, a young female staff member greeted me warmly and was pleasant throughout. However, the man behind the counter, possibly the owner, was shockingly rude. After I provided my name (Charlotte) for the order, he berated the young employee in front of me for not checking the ordering platform, leaving her visibly embarrassed. He then turned his arrogant, near-aggressive tone on me, demanding to know which platform I used. When I struggled to confirm this on my phone, he dismissed my order confirmation as unhelpful and implied I could be “anybody” trying to claim food. His lack of interest in my explanation or newness to the area was disheartening.
To make matters worse, upon returning home, I found my $18+tax mango chicken dish contained only four pieces of chicken, mostly sauce. The food quality didn’t justify the price, and the poor treatment overshadowed any positives. Reviews dating back years highlight similar issues with this man’s attitude, and his dismissive responses to feedback suggest little effort to improve. I won’t return.

Well I had another craving this morning, I wanted a big breakfast with 4 eggs in my omelette. But then I had a brainwave, I thought maybe the Butter Chicken Sauce which this restaurant makes is so delightful, that I should put some on my omelette. So I asked for a small portion to try it. Well it worked, totally yummy experience. It’s my new go to for a satisfying breakfast. Then a small bowl of fresh fruit. Yikes!! Good or what?? Really good.

This place exceeded my expectation. The owner and staff are super friendly and offer great customer service. I was there for an early dinner and was craving for a good biryani. Their lamb biryani and veggie samosa are phenomenally good. I don’t not expected it for our small town stony plain to find a great Indian restaurant. I was hesitant to come in at first as the place was not busy no one is there dining inside. The inside of the restaurant is so clean which is so important for a new customers like me. I’m surely gonna be back soon to try their other entire menu and their specialty hot drinks.

As an Indian person it is super hard to find something that meets my standards. But this place exceeded it! I have been there probably 5 times in the past 6 months! The food is always amazing. My kids love the pizza, the fish and chips are amazing, the tea is divine and the Indian food is super tasty!! We have never been disappointed. Most of all the waitress is the sweetest!! The owner & host are both very nice too. I love having this little gem in this wonderful small town. The first time I took my husband there he said “this is our place from now on!” Thanks for an amazing dining experience every time!!
Update: they now serve breakfast also! We had a first class service by the always welcoming owner. We are excited to see this business grow and flourish. Thank you all for enriching our community with delicious food and flavors

My favorite restaurant in the area. The Indian food is excellent and fairly priced. The staff are warm and make you feel at home. They recently started serving breakfast as well and man, it’s awesome and has great pricing. I recommend you go here for any meal of the day.

I ordered some butter chicken, rice, and naan bread off a delivery app. The food came, everything smelled amazing but the naan was missing. I was very disappointed. I decided to call the restaurant to see if they could help me. The man I spoke to told me that he was so sorry and he doesn’t know how it happened but he wants to make it right. He said that of course I can’t have butter chicken without naan! He said I need naan lol. He asked how he could make it right. We decided on me ordering the naan again and he would pay for the cost of this delivery and food. I felt it was too nice, but I really wanted naan so I agreed. It arrived very quickly and he added probably a triple order of naan as well as a few desserts.
I will always go back, this man is honestly the sweetest human being I’ve spoken to in awhile. It was absolutely heartwarming.

We ordered their karahi chicken with garlic naan and plain naan. It was really good and tasty. Best thing is they serve Halal food. They were very sweet and gave us complimentary gulab jamun.
