Kamora-li; Destination Diary!
We began our evening with bread and butter for two. I ordered the featured yellowfin tuna with a peppered crust, which was seared to perfection. My partner chose the filet mignon, cooked medium, accompanied by glazed carrots and mashed potatoes, an excellent pairing.
For drinks, I enjoyed Flora’s Last Word, which was absolutely divine, while my partner selected the Siskiyou Merlot. The wine was very smooth, not too dry, and truly tasty.
Dessert was spectacular, truly. The apple spice cake can only be described in one word: fabulous.
A sincere thank you to Melody, our wonderful waitress, and to Addison, the welcoming host, for making the experience so enjoyable. The chef deserves an award.

We won’t be back again. This last visit the food was sub par at best. We enjoyed our cocktails and took our time in the appetizer and soup/salad courses which went pretty smoothly. But it took over an hour to receive our main courses after our order was put in to the kitchen. The restaurant was not quite half full. We were grateful for the good company at the table. But it was painful waiting that long for them to serve the final course, we skipped dessert. I rated the service 3 stars because the front of the house staff did a good job. I guess I’d say this restaurant is hit & miss, sadly this was a big miss.

We had an absolutely wonderful Christmas Eve dinner here. The atmosphere was cozy and beautifully dimly lit, which made the night feel really special. We ordered the filet mignon and the beef cheek, along with a 2015 Cab Sav Bordeaux and a fantastic cocktail. Everything was cooked perfectly and full of flavor.
Our server, Bella, truly went above and beyond. We had several food allergies, and she double-checked every single dish to make sure everything was safe. She was kind, attentive, and made us feel genuinely cared for all evening.
We finished with the Yule Log for dessert, which was the perfect ending to the meal. Overall, just an incredible dining experience from start to finish. Highly recommend — we’ll definitely be back!

This one was a split decision. Kudos to the menu design. Lots of intriguing options and to have it themed as a French steakhouse injected fresh flavors beyond the usual streak, greens, and potato fare of an American steakhouse.
I ordered the beef cheeks. My initial thought as I went in was “these people know what they’re doing.” The meat was so tender and flavorful, and it melded seamlessly with the truffle sauce and cauliflower puree. The broccolini was charred beautifully with just enough crunch. We were off to a strong start!
The hanger steak was a different story. A difficult cut of meat to get right. The center was a perfect medium, but the crust was over-charred and giving off bitter, ash-tray tasting vibes. A couple of the center cuts showed the potential of the dish, but as you approached the blackened ends, it wasn’t appetizing.
The drink list was exciting and I enjoyed the “Rum with a Vieux,” a sort of rum-based take on an old fashioned. We got a Caesar salad to start, which was mostly made from the dense lettuce hearts and was again, overly bitter.
This was an intriguing restaurant to visit. I won’t be rushing back, but given the glimmers of technical mastery, I won’t cross it off my list either. At a lower price-point, this place would have been a 4, but when paying premium you can’t drop the ball on an entire dish.

The hostess/ waitress was amazing, she recommended the soup, however the seafood soup that was recommended was very disappointing at $36.00 a bowl, there were sopose to have osters and clams very few clams and not one Oster just a broth with fine chopped tomatoes and potatoes. We also had the beef cheeks that was good. The bread for 2 was also good, I had 2 glasses of the 2020 Melbac wine that was fantastic.

If I could I would give a 6 ⭐
This place surprised me a lot, my husband and I went to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we were delighted with the food and service.
If you go there PLEASEEEE try the onion soup
This outfit led me to the heavens, the Tartare was also delicious, highly recommended!
But, ok, I’m here to talk about the steak, it was another level.
My husband ordered his raw and it come exactly how he loves, normally the restaurant always messes up and he never get it right. It was just right, good job to the team, I can’t wait to come back.

The food was disappointing. We ordered French onion soup and had to send it back. I have had lots of mediocre French onion soup but none that I’ve ever sent back. This one was just plain bad. The waitress explained they use worcheschier sauce in their French onion soup. I suspect this to give it a dark color and to hide the fact that they are not developing flavor by caramelizing their onions and beef. We were also disappointed in the steak tartare which came in a sad gray mound and had little beef taste. Our entrees were fine but nothing exceptional. It was a birthday dinner but overall was a pretty lackluster experience. There are several other restaurants in Ashland that are much more reliable and interesting.

I don’t even know where to start or how to articulate how I feel after such an amazing, elating, and cosmic experience. My wife and I had the honor and pleasure of having our 10th wedding anniversary dinner at Chateaubriand 36 today. For such a milestone, a celebration of great magnitude is in order which the chef and staff at Chateaubriand 36 far exceeded at doing. It was my wife and I’d first time eating here and over my dead body will it be the last time. Every single item we ordered was nothing short of perfection. I knew butter was good, but the bread and trio butter spread (not pictured) showed me things I couldn’t think of in my wildest dreams. The rest of the dinner was like a journey. Starting with bewilderment, love, and passion but ending with sorrow due to the journey coming to an end. My taste buds have never been assaulted by flavor in such a manner before and it will forever be welcomed. The meats were cooked to their most immaculate and perfect consistency, an extent that is only done by a master of their craft. I’ve never wanted to hug a chef more after a meal but this one gives me the desire and drive to find the father of the chef and shake his hand for raising such a flaunt musician in the kitchen. To the staff of Chateaubriand 36, you welcome my wife and I with a journey of taste that only Tolkien could describe. You made our 10th anniversary memorable (especially with having the whole restaurant to ourselves thanks to the OSF). I look forward to our next experience at Chateaubriand 36 and long for the day I can experience and rejoice this magic again.

I had to give the food only 3 stars my steak was perfect and delicious but my husband’s first steak was pure tendon fat and grissle and his second steak was cooked incorrectly but he just ate the second one the waitress was so sweet and attentive she saw and apologied and even thanked us for not being upset about it lol. It is a small and intimate setting in the mainfloor of a old home requiring the tables to need to be very small so we were thankful we have both lost weight recently lol

Absolutely amazing experience to celebrate an anniversary! Food was incredible but the staff were the best part of the evening. Chris was an absolutely amazing server, incredibly kind and knowledgeable. Glenn was the best restaurant manager I have ever met, he was so welcoming and hospitable.
My fiance and I cannot wait to come back
