Chatpata Austin is a vibrant Indian fusion food truck located near the University of Texas area, surrounded by a diverse collection of food trucks offering cuisines from around the world. The lively setting, combined with the variety of options available in the area, creates a fun and energetic dining atmosphere.
The menu offers a wide range of choices, from traditional Indian classics and street-style chaats to creative fusion items such as paratha tacos. We tried several items during our visit. The chaats were generously portioned; however, the serving size felt slightly larger than necessary relative to the pricing. A more balanced portion-to-price ratio might enhance the overall value.
The butter chicken was well-prepared and met expectations, offering the familiar flavor and richness typically associated with the dish. The masala tea was enjoyable and well-spiced. The lassi, however, was milder and less sweet than expected, resulting in a simpler yogurt-forward taste.
One of the strongest aspects of Chatpata Austin is the efficiency and cleanliness. The service was quick, the setup appeared well-maintained, and the overall environment felt safe and welcoming.
In summary, Chatpata Austin provides a lively food truck experience with a diverse menu and fast service. While some items may vary in flavor and value, it remains a worthwhile spot to explore, especially for those interested in Indian fusion cuisine.

Chat Patta Austin is an absolute gem for anyone craving bold, flavorful Indian street food with a creative twist. Their Paratha Taco Chicken is a must-try — perfectly crispy paratha wrapped around juicy, well-seasoned chicken, creating a mouthwatering fusion of Indian and Tex-Mex flavors. Each bite bursts with spice, texture, and freshness. The Masala Fries are another highlight — crispy on the outside, soft inside, and tossed in just the right amount of tangy, spicy masala seasoning that keeps you reaching for more.

This place is truly and honestly so freaking good. I come here often, Especially for the mango lassi. It’s amazing filling food for a great price, hardly any wait, and the containers can be reused which is a definite plus considering its a college area full of students just trying to survive
Been meaning to write a review for ages but each time I get it, I forget to take a picture because I devour it all so quickly (remembered this time!) 10000% recommend. It’s so worth it

Oh my god. The paneer paratha tacos blew my mind. With the mango lassi? I have reached nirvana. To the detriment of my wallet, I will be back many times.

So far the best Halal food I had in Austin!! Dahi puri and Mango lassi were 10/10. It beat the summer heat so well I will be ordering again!! Chicken paratha taco was loved by my family. Kadak chai was very similar to back home taste… makes us nostalgic!

Best for what it is. If im craving Indian, this is where the spot is. Their food is comes out so fast and soooo good. Remember, this is a food truck and it’s oriented to college students. But even then, they will focus on getting tour food so quickly and so tasty.

God I love this place. If I was rich, I would buy out this food truck to ensure it never goes out of business. The paratha tacos…glorious. The sauce they use on them is amazing. I wish I had come here more while I still lived in West Campus.

Good Indian Food, we got the masala fries and felt it was too salty, but good spice level. Had their paneer tikka wraps and samosa chat. Good place to grab something quick and Indian in the UT area

Food was yum, I mean paneer biriyani. But I took panipuri too, sadly that’s waste of money.

I got Veggie Samosas and Mango Lassi. I was recommended these two by my sis.

Mango Lassi is great!! Definitely recommended to others as well!! It’s thick and flavorful. It’s not a disappointment. Samosa is flavorful, nice and crunchy. The dipping sauce also tasty.

Definitely coming back to try others items on the menu!
