Chat N Chew is a family owned diner that’s been a staple in the Underwood/Petersville community for decades.
The food is delicious and made fresh. I love the cheeseburger and spicy fries, but there’s so much more to be found on the menu including ice cream and a long list of milkshake flavors.
The food is affordable, and you’re guaranteed to be met with a great big smile. The owner goes out of his way to make you feel welcome.
You can order takeout or dine in.
You order food at the counter and help yourself to a table. You can dine inside or outside just keep the kids off the tables. 😉

I’ve been going here since I was a boy in the 90’s. The family that runs the place makes sure everything is perfect and wow do they have some amazing ice-cream!!! The food is awesome too it’s always a treat to stop by there and see them. They are extremely friendly and want to make you the best meal or treat you could ask for. I tell everyone who has never been to go because it’s just a special place with amazing grub.

Best Family Owned business around here!!! I got a large ice cream took 5 steps out of the door and tried to lick it from the side and dropped it. They saw out the window and gave me a new one. Also they wouldn’t even let me clean it up for them. Great people some of the best you’ll ever meet!

We were in town for our Bradshaw High School reunions. We have not been to Chat n Chew in 20+ years. We have family here just never made it by. The owners we found out yesterday 9.13.24, are the last of the family. I had the BBQ sandwich and it was awesome. Husband had burger and Chili Cheese FF and they were awesome as well. Bacon was crispy as we ordered a BLT no T or L LOL. Please visit and enjoy great local food place.. If you remember they moved up the street from original location long ago but still great food.

In Florence to pick up furniture, and drove a few extra miles to give Chat and Chew a try. Old fashioned hot dog and hamburger stand with ice cream. Worth the drive! We enjoyed everything!

It’s just family. Order from a window, take your white sack of goodies and find an empty booth in the cozy dining area. Be sure and cleanup after yourself.
Signs in the dining area ask that you don’t allow your kids to “walk on the tables.” (Suppose those county parents lets their kids walk on the table at home and when they come to town they don’t know any better.)
Standard short-order grill items made to order. Soft-serve ice cream cones and other items available for dessert. Chat N Chew is plain good food from an local institution that has served generations.
