As a student with a service dog, I’m extremely disappointed with the cafeteria’s lack of support and awareness around service dog accommodations. The manager, in particular, is uneducated about service dog regulations and consistently gives me a hard time when I’m just trying to access food like everyone else. My service dog is fully trained and legally permitted to be with me, yet I often feel anxious about whether I’ll be confronted or made to feel unwelcome when I go to the cafeteria.
For a major part of the campus that should be accessible to all students, it’s disheartening to have such a crucial place be so unwelcoming for students with disabilities. I hope the administration will address this issue and make sure students like me receive the respect and support we deserve.

All the employees were very friendly and very helpful. They had a great selection of fresh vegetables, vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free items. A Pizza station like you see in the Mall food court and very nice Bakery Corner ice cream fresh baked cookies and cakes. On a scale from 1 to 10 I would give it a 9.7

I’d rank this zero stars if I could.
The food selection is very limited, unimpressive, and there is no allergen listing. The salad bar has cheap “spring mix” style salads instead of actual lettuce or spinach as well as limited dressings with no labels.
The food at dinner seemed to be recycled lunch from the previous day. One evening they served “vegetable egg rolls” and “sweet and sour chicken” that were soggy and depressing. A friend who asked for the vegan item was served mushrooms, tomatoes, and broccoli tossed in oil. Her food wasn’t even cooked from what we could tell.
The lunch wasn’t much better. One day they served boiled BBQ chicken on the bone. After removing the rubbery skin and bones, almost no meat was there to enjoy. The only redeeming food item was the steak (although it was a cheap cut of meat).
The serving and seating set ups are abysmal for how many people need to get their food. They would be better off having a traditional cafeteria line and cafeteria tables in order to optimize the space available.

So I don’t know what half of these reviewers have been smoking but this place is absolutely horrible! If you are a professor or even a person/parent visiting and touring to see MHU SAVE YOUR MONEY! Go somewhere else and you can get better food for less money. They often serve stale and very under cooked food, like you know it’s bad when there’s days when even the salad is awful. If that doesn’t tell you anything about this place, I don’t know what will.

Quality exceeds your typical buffet style restaurant (Golden Corral, Ryan’s…) with a more limited selection. Service is overall good though light on weekends and between busy meal hours.

The food is hit or miss, but there is usually a lot to choose from. It’s sort of a small buffet style.
