The food and atmosphere was great! And it’s important to note that this is being said After we had to leave another restaurant to find something more suitable. And shockingly enough, another patron ended up in the restaurant as well, from our previous place. She too enjoyed her meal here. Also, I would like to note, the staff was some of the best in NOLA. Just straight up kind. I have never felt so at home or at ease in a restaurant in a big tourism area.

Cece was an AMAZING server. Service was fast and delicious. Must try the bloody mary if you like olives as the infused vodka is amazing! Had the Smothered fish with jambalaya and Étouffée, red beans and rice, and french quarter dip (the best).

Chartres House was a great pick in the Quarter. The red beans and rice with fried chicken hit perfectly, and the boudin balls were the standout of the meal. Relaxed atmosphere, good portions, and everything tasted fresh. Definitely a spot I’d go back to.

Chartres House is a great contender for your next dinner in New Orleans. While I had a few issues, I enjoyed my time overall.
When my party walked in, we did not see any greeter, so we looked around, and a bartender told us to seat ourselves. We were visited after a little bit of waiting, and our server told us we should’ve been seated.
We ordered our food and drinks, and I got the black Angus burger with a Sprite. The burger was delicious, but I felt the bun was a little soggy. Also, the Sprite seemed a little watered down. Overall, the food was pretty good.
Our server was great, but it seemed like there were two or three people behind the bar that were just standing around. We could have probably been served quicker had they been doing something.
I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant, as it had a very open and comfortable feel. There was a part of the restaurant that was situated in an alley, and that added to the cool vibe of the restaurant.
Overall, I really enjoyed Chartres House, and will be returning next time I am in NOLA!

Ran into this little gem of a place while in town for Mardi Gras. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The staff is very friendly and the vibe is cool, the menu is nicely varied with a nice selection of beers and cocktails. I had the BEST fried chicken sandwich in 20yrs, juicy and crispy and the buttermilk fried to perfection. It’s in a central area with plenty to see and great shopping. The hours are perfect since they one of the few places that are open until midnight. Give em a try

Great food, great service by Jajuan. Did I mention FREE appetizer with entree. Creole Nachos were off the chain. Highly recommended!

We took a group of 27 high school students to New Orleans and had a wonderful experience at Chartres House. We were able to order our food ahead of time because we were short on time. The communication between me and the manager was awesome and easy and the food was great. They put us in a private from upstairs with balcony views. They also worked with our budget which made it even better. It was one of the best group dining experiences I have had on any of the trips I have taken with students. Thanks!

Chartres house
It’s hard to find a bad place to eat in the French quarter (I have done it), so it is no surprise that the Chartres House is no exception. The big thing here is the portion size. The plates were very large. We had the hot honey wings and the taste of New Orleans. The wings were exceptionally well spiced and nice and crispy. The taste of New Orleans came with gumbo, etouffee, jambalaya, and beans and rice. All of them were very good, but the etouffee stood out among them. It had a nice creamy buttery taste and was very hearty. Our waiter Jason was very attentive and laughed joking with me about the pronunciation of etouffee. He really made the experience worth the stop.

My mother, sister and I all really enjoyed our meal here. We had just finished up a ghost tour and our guide recommended this spot to us. Prices were reasonable compared to some of the other spots around the quarter. Next time I’m in New Orleans i would not hesitate to come back!
